She walked my two huge “trouble dogs” for 5 years straight and introduced us to so many insights and tidbits of information about their reactive behaviours. The only reason we stopped our walks with Kim is because Kim advanced to become a trainer and required her attendance at the day care everyday. But even before she became a certified trainer, her understanding of canine psychology and assessment of their needs was quite accurate and so kind. Now that she has a puppy daycare where she also trains dogs, I can only imagine the benefits that the centre will impart to the members.

They are so in tune with the needs of the dogs that they work with and care for, and they educate owners (like me!) to help them understand their pets and how to develop the best relationship with them. Kim worked with our senior dog for years, and now she is training our puppy Luna. Whether it’s an in-home training session, puppy socials, or daycare, she is always accommodating and amazing at helping us figure out what our dog wants and needs. We would be lost without her and our newest addition feels the same!

We have worked with Kim for at home training, been to puppy socials and doggy daycare- all extremely positive experiences. When Kim came for at home training it was truly incredible how she worked with our puppy. She understands the dog’s behaviour so well and is so patient! We could not believe how comfortable our puppy was with her and she now loves her! Puppy socials were so great to get our dog socialized young. The doggy daycare has also been so great, our dog comes back always better behaved and having learned new skills. Not only is Kim so wonderful, her entire team is so friendly. Truly can’t recommend Suburban Paws enough!!

He would lunge and bite if he had something he thought was high value. Kim was able to come into and explain everything to us in a way we understood. She taught us different approaches to make sure both Opie and us were happy. Opie now no longer reacts like he used to and is living his best life with less anxiety!!

Because of her I am developing a better understanding the dog I have and how best to meet her needs. Kim has supported me in understanding that my dog struggles with fear based reactivity and anxiety but this does not define who she is. Kim has a wealth of knowledge, and is an incredible dog whisperer! Her gift of understanding a dogs needs and being able to explain and train the dog guardian is nothing less than amazing. Kim focuses on creating a positive relationship and environment for dogs. She uses evidence based strategies that are force free. Kim is very open to feedback and she is not judgmental when it comes to challenges dogs or their humans experience. Training plans are individualized and unique. I found Kim’s contact online without having a clue what to expect or what questions to ask and we were so lucky we found her. She taught us the basics, she taught us to socialize our puppy and to be patient. She taught us to observe our dog so our dog is comfortable. We went from a shy timid puppy to a confident adult dog. 2 years later we can’t say Kim’s name without our dog running to the door. She’s been a blessing that I recommend to anyone.
