★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hoa is simply awesome! I had my hair permed and she ordered in some accessories that I needed. She really takes time to chat and understand my needs and provides useful advice. She is meticulous and delicate. I feel that she loves what she does and that she cares about her clients’ satisfaction. On top of that, she is super friendly! Her small hair salon is a hidden gem in the busy downtown Vancouver.

Hoa is a very talented and skilled hairstylist, and above all she understands what the client wants. She also offers valuable advice if needed, and she is absolutely a pleasure to deal with! The prices are also very reasonable. I am very lucky to have Hoa as my hair stylist, and I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a great hairstylist.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’m new to Vancouver and was looking for someone who can provide me with the best perm for curly hair and decided to check out Straight and Curl Salon based on the raving reviews over Hoa. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed. She was so kind and professional and did a great job! Getting a perm is never a quick process with my long hair but Hoa was very patient and didn’t rush through the process and it paid off! I gave her a reference picture and she exceeded my expectations! There’s a reason why Hoa receives so many great reviews - she knows what she’s doing and has been doing this for YEARS ! (Seriously ask her how long and you’ll be surprised).
Hoa did not ask me to write this review but I felt the need to as I was very pleased with the overall experience and believe she deserves the reviews. She’s a kind soul and I’ll be seeing her again in the near future.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I just had an amazing hair cut from Straight and Curl Salon. I have a curly hair type 3a-3b, long over my shoulder and I got it cut short almost bob style. It’s so hard to find a curly hair hairstylist and I thought I would give this salon a chance. I’m so happy that I did coz Hoa did an amazing job. She has 20yrs experience and definitely can cut curly hair and all types of hair. Hoa’s energy is amazing and she’s easy to talk to. The Salon’s ambiance is calm and relaxing. I had an excellent experience. I highly recommend Straight and Curl Salon. Hoa is definitely my go to hairstylist now.

Hoa is a treasure. She spends time talking to you and asking about what your likes and dislikes about your hair are. I have fine, straight hair that I don't like and I needed a colour adjustment. This is the best haircut I have ever had. I can do things with my hair that I never thought possible! Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the best haircut i’ve ever gotten. I wanted to wait a little to write a review to see how my curls would fall naturally into the cut after a few weeks. Lemme say, my curls are so happy and the shape of my cut is exactly how i wanted it. Im so happy I found someone who can cut hair and talk life at the same time. I had such a good time and even got some good perspective on what i was willing to open up about. Definitely coming here next hair cut?

Being new to Vancouver and in need of expert help to maintain my hair for my job, I couldn’t be more happy with how she analyzed and treated my crazy curls. What’s more is that she even educated me that my curls don’t have to be unruly, that through the right care and treatment I can feasibly harness their look.
