★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I waited a long time to begin my studies at this acting studio and let me tell you, its worth every penny. I tried an audit for free to see what the teachers and the students worked on. The actors held themselves to a high standard and the coaches were delicate but firm in their guidance.
During my time searching for an acting studios, this one stuck out.
Not only for the reasons I have already said but also because I could feel that there was a strong positive community among the artists to put themselves out there to the rest of the world.
What I saw in that one class, and can confirm now that I am in said class, that they were serious about their own art but also were there to help each other thrive. The coaches' goal seemed to be to help foster each individual's talents, hold them to a high standard of progression and maintain each artist's accountability.
It took me a year and a half from that first audit to jump in and I am happy I finally did.

They nurture and cater to you as an individual, while insisting that it is ultimately your own journey. But honestly if there isn't room the waiting list is so long that you end up paying good money to sit there, take notes, and be inspired while not being able to participate for heaven knows how long. Don't go if there isn't room, you'll just set up the stage for free. Everyone tells me they took advantage. I'd like to think otherwise.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been in Straeon for a month now and I've already begun seeing myself expand as an actor, or should I say story-teller. The coaches really focus on how each individual can improve and what needs to be tackled to break down barriers. The class is set up in a really constructive way and it's main focus is on 'doing'. It is a safe space to try out ideas, make mistakes and get feedback. Which, as an actor, you can realize is quite valuable. You also become exposed to many like-minded and supportive people, really feels like a community! I'm looking forward to just letting go and reaching my full potential as an actor!

The coaches take a personalized approach for each actor in order to utilize their strengths and abolish bad habits. I feel that their unique approach really expedites the learning process. The coaches tailor the training to you, just like a gym. They don't waste time on stuff that you are already good at. They build up your weak muscles. When I go into audition rooms, I feel confident and I am able to make bold choices that still connect with the reader. I especially appreciate their "gym" approach to teaching, tailored to each individual - start at your current level and build from there. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I haven't tried many schools of acting but once I started at Straeon I knew I had found something special. I've been there for about 3 years now and every week I learn something new. The coaches push us to become better storytellers and to understand all the nuances within a given scene. What I love most are the moments of connection when we perform a scene, and the coaches help us find that. I recommend this class for beginners as well as advanced students.
