Quiet campsite just under an hour away from Calgary. The campsite had just open up and is still in progress, so there were no flushing toilets or showers. However the porta potties were clean and stocked with toilet paper. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. He allowed us to drive around and pick the campsite we thought would be best for our large party. He gave us honest recommendations that were helpful. We stayed at 51/52 and would have loved 13/14. We had a party of 13 and had lots of space. There are many sites with trees and many without. The sites all faced an amazing panoramic view of the mountains. The river runs quite close to site, and is only a short hike away. You can also easily jump into your car and go on a hike in kananaskis just across the highway. The sites are full of grass and shrubbery, I would recommend coming prepared with tools to either remove/flattened some of the plants, or bring a sturdier base for your tent, like cardboard. We also noticed a significant amount of wasps and hornets at our site. I would recommend bringing repellent or traps of some sort. We told this to the owner, and he did lend us one of his traps to help with the wasps. All in all, it’s a campground with a very backcountry vibe and I would recommend it to anyone who truly loves being outdoors.

I was super pleased with my stay at Stoney Park Campgrounds! The sites were big with lots of options for varied scenery. There is direct access to the river through a path off of the A loop and stunning views accessible from any vantage point. I stayed in site A5, which had very level ground and was close to the middle of the park. The B sites are in a more forested area, with B13, B14, and B28 being the ones I dog-eared for a later stay. Sites A44 and onwards in the A loop were also stunning as they overlooked the river. The staff were very kind and it's clear that a lot of effort went into preparing the campground for its first guests in over 20 years. I would wholeheartedly recommend!

It was beautiful place to have a camping. Autumn colors are awesome nearby Bow River. Sunset and sunrise were also fascinating.

We paid 35 and had the best view in the campground. Outhouse was a decent walk but for that price easily worth it!

Very peaceful. Quite and views are amazing. Large lots. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Little store on site. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit. They just reopened so no showers or flush toilets yet. Star gazing would be amazing on a clear night.

This campground was astonishing. Well taken care of with spectacular views of he mountains on a clear day. Stayed here July 17 for 1 night heading into Kanaskis County. Before I go any further go give them a follow on Facebook and IG. The pictures will give you a good indication of what the views are like from this place. We reserved the site ahead of time although there was lots of availability. Met the owner/host upon arrival. The gentleman was super friendly and explained a little about the campgrounds and surrounding area. He mentioned Disney has been on site shooting Predator 5. Once that is complete there is another section of the campground that will open up for more space. He also gave a good recommendation for a great lookout point to see the most picturesque view of the Bow River and Valley. "B" lot sites are spacious and have treed sections to block wind and give some privacy. "A" lot sites are right when you drive in. The lots there are a little closer together and more suited for tent camping however you have great views of the Rockies and Bow River Valley below. I was so impressed by how clean the bathrooms were. They just opened so no flush toilets on site however the spaced out porta toilets were cleaned frequently and smelled fresh for a porta toilet. Lots of effort has been put in but the host to make this place desirable. I would definitively stay here again.

Love this campsite! This place is so beautiful and very quiet! Lots of trees at the B section sites if you want some privicy and wind barrerier. They have a little store there you can get some supplies like ice and drinks and firewoods. Not to mention the owner is super friendly and helpful!! Highly recommend this campsite!! PS: I encountered some bald faced hornet when I was there during the day time but they are gone at dusk. Just make sure to bring some hornet killer spray or repellent.

Absolutely beautiful scenery . Best I've seen while camping! The grounds are huuuge! Owners are super super friendly and helpful! We picked a site off their website but once arrived the owner said that particular one wasn't the best and it was very uneven. He said follow me and he allowed us to choose another site of our choice no questions asked! Will definitely be returning!!
