Over the past 11 years, I have worked in a variety of settings including supporting Indigenous youth with Child & Family Services, Youth Mobile Crisis, as well as in the Education system. I also provided support to Child & Family Service agencies in remote Northern communities. I have experience with abuse investigations and the court process of reunifications with families. Within my work experience, I hold a variety of certificates in different areas of study including trauma and resilience, structured sensory interventions, resetting for resilience, strength-based interventions, and mental wellness.
My focus of study and the majority of my experience has been upon intervention with individuals who have experienced trauma. I have a fundamental understanding of the impact trauma has on the social, emotional, and physical development of individuals, and the importance of resilience. With a specialization in clinical stream, I can understand the importance that a child’s life experience plays in diagnosing behavior and developing a trusting relationship that leads to a child’s inner greatness. I am able to provide services to individuals of all age. With a calm and gentle approach, I create a supportive and safe environment for everyone.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two children. I have a lifelong commitment to building resilience in the children, families and communities that I serve.
