Samaaneh was born with hemiplegia, a form of muscle paralysis that affects one side of the body. After the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, Samaaneh and her family fled to Pakistan wherethey were able to find refuge in a cramped one-bedroom house. Through PWS&D (Presbyterian World Service & Development), in collaboration with ACT Alliance, Samaaneh’s family received cash assistance to help with purchasing essential items.
