★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The drive out to the locks is a weekend ritual with multiple activities you can enjoy. Fishing or sightseeing or hitting golf balls. Really a great place for either a drive or a bite to eat at multiple river view restaurants.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After a relaxing dinner @ Skinner’s why not take a quick drive over to the St Andrews Lock ‘n Dam. This location is just 23 klm’s north of Winnipeg.
The water is high at this time of the year due to the excess water from the snow this past Winter. The current is strong but seems this does not faze the pelicans while they float & dive to the fish. They are very good at fishing. Every time they put their heads in the water out comes a fish in their mouths. How come each time we cast our lines in the water a fish is not at the end of the line. Oh well, we’ll keep casting for practice.
What is cool to watch when a boat passes through the locks. No Panama Canal but a very small version.
People relax in their vehicles or go for a walk along the paths near the water. What a way to end a stressful day but in the country listening to the birds ‘n the peace ‘n quiet.
The sunsets are amazing ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Definitely a great fishing spot for sauger/walleye,freshwater drum,northern pike and big ole chanel cats. Half moon restaurant is also right around the corner wich is a great place to eat. Definitely worth the visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Enjoyed sitting by the dam, eating our evening snacks, playing frisbee and enjoying the sunset while shooting with our drone! You can also do your own barbeque there and they have their grill, you need to get the rest. Just do your research before you go. Lots of restaurants to go around there,I've heard popular reviews of The Half Moon Drive, haven't been there myself though. Beautiful drive and fabulous houses by the water!
