A little treasure in our own backyard. We had the personal attention of a guide who was very open to questions. The park has wonderful vision and plans for the future -subject to funding. Come on out and enjoy (and do make a generous voluntary contribution).

As an explorer, here's my spin... I was disappointed that it was not open. Not sure when it opens as the hours are not posted correctly on Google.

This was a great outing close to home. The guides were fantastic and knew quite a bit about the families that lived at the site. The elevators are in great shape and the guide was able to explain exactly how they worked. I wouldn't recommend this place for young children, but my teen daughter and wife both enjoyed it as well. It took us about one and a half hours to visit the whole site.

The guides are very friendly, and knowledgeable. You can tell they genuinely like to share the history of this place with visitors. The objects and machinery are super cool, interesting, and very well preserved and taken care of. We loved it there. Admission is free, but donations are welcome.

Perfect Vacation Place By YumYum The Hawaiian Islands is the best place to relax and have fun on vacation. Firstly, beautiful beaches are ubiquitous. I have been to multiple Beaches on the islands, my favourite being Makenna Beach. This beach spans nearly a mile long and has super sand for constructing castles. If you climb an accessible cliff on one side of the beach there is a once in a lifetime view. Another amazing thing about the beaches is the ocean because you can do so many activities like boogie boarding, longboarding, surfing, snorkelling, whale watching, or just passing a ball. The exotic sea life there is intriguing because there are whales, turtles, sharks, and fish. Out of all of those animals the turtle was definitely my favourite because they slept on the beach and are fun to get pictures with. Something I used to always do is build a sand village with a gigantic wall in front of it and see if the waves would break the sand. Once I got way out of hand and built a hole to trap the water. While at the beach, a cold tasty treat. Shaved ice is a cold treat unique to Hawaii. If you have never tried it it's a must have! Shaved ice is very close to a snowcone except it is way softer and instead of licking it you bite it. Its appearance is analogous to a cloud. The number of flavours available can seem intimidating for a first timer. Although, after a few visits, most people become familiar with their preferences. Some of my personal favourites are blue raspberry, lime, cherry, root beer, banana, pina colada. Nonetheless, this fluffy treat is sure to satisfy anyone's sweet tooth. There is much more than just shaved Ice that is unique to these Islands. The differences between Hawaii and St.Albert are numerous and substantial. In fact, the climate is the polar opposite from here for the majority of the year. Hawaii's temperature is always positive and in the double digits in celsius all year round and snow is non-existent. Although, it rarely accumulates in some mountain regions. Some of the differences are, the temperature, the humidity, and how common rainbows are. The community there has a very easy going lifestyle. Nobody is in a rush and everyone you meet is so nice and laid back. The guarantee of warmth and peaceful community is surely an attractive attribute of Hawaii. Considering the beaches, shaved ice, and contrast between St.Albert, Hawaii is definitely an optimal vacation destination.

I felt like a kid again! Have you any idea how hard it is to find a working grain elevator around here? I have lived in Alberta most of my life and had never toured this historical site in St. Albert. The maintenance manager showed me around even though they were not officially opened yet. They open to public THIS weekend. Do not miss getting a view of the hopper and seeing how the elevator system works these were built at turn of the century in the 1900s - bring the whole family. This part of Alberta Heritage is a Must-see! This is the equivalent of seeing the Lighthouse keepers quarters on the Great Lakes for the Prairies!! Don't miss the old rail load point outside the Grain Elevator doors. I can just imagine the noise and sound of the train pulling up out back. These Grain Elevators were once how we fed the nation and beyond! Look how far we have come...
