Hello, Winnipeg. We are currently updating our website and creating new content to better assist you with the process of designing your project. Check back often over the next month as we will be adding more info to the pages and new photos to the galleries. Our newest addition will be a catalog identifying all components of building process make selections from. We hope to start estimating by mid-March (weather permitting). Please note we have made some changes to our estimate fee structure and will now be donating all proceeds to D’arcy’s A.R.C. More info can be found on our contact page. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Derek's work is top notch with careful attention to detail and he’s an excellent communicator. I asked him for a quote after seeing recommendations in my neighborhood Facebook group. His quote was lower than other contractors, and he provided way more very helpful information and guidance around the design and options. The deck (built last year) turned out beautifully and he also re-did the wonky gates in our fence. Highly recommend!

We shopped around and were impressed with both the price and the service we got from Derek at Squirrel Construction. The fence was in a tricky spot with lots of underground utility lines, existing structures and patio stones to contend with in various places and he managed to do the job without disturbing or damaging anything. I can unreservedly recommend Squirrel for your next fence building project.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a fence, a deck and a pergola done in 2020 by Derek at Squirrel. I share my boundary with 3 neighbours, and had 3 different companies do the 3 portions of my fence. The section done by Derek was bar none the best of the 3. There really is a difference going with a professional. There was a bit of an issue with the pergola that developed but Derek came back this year to correct it and its looking good.

We needed to open up a section to bring in equipment for a pool build, and he was great with flexibility and timing on getting sections down and back up and only replacing materials that could not be salvaged. Communicated very well with schedules in the lead up as well.

Apprx 10 yrs later, it’s standing strong, and looks straighter & truer than any of the fences in our neighborhood - including ones built very recently. Derek is great for following up to ensure there are no issues with shifting or settling, and makes sure you know he’s there to take care of any issues.
We’re looking forward to putting the new pergola we had built at the end of last summer… a great addition to our backyard.
The small fence we just recently had built along the side of our house has also added a nice sense of privacy to the yard.
Based on the three projects for which we’ve used Squirrel Construction, I can say they consistently provide excellent workmanship and service.
Best to book your projects early - they fill their schedule pretty quickly.
