★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful location which is quite a hike when coming from the Grand Overlook. It is definitely a moderately difficult hike to the top from there, but absolutely worth it once you reach the Spion Kop Summit . Pictures do not do it justice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a 4.7 km trail to the top of the summit if you take the red labeled path. Should take about two hours between going up and down. They recently introduced a picnic table at the summit so its a great place to sit down and take a look at the eagles. Be prepared for many rolling rocks so I recommend some good hiking boots.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great hike with 360 view at the top. I saw several families and hikers with dogs on the trail. My friends and I didn’t check the map clearly beforehand. We walked up straight from the parking lot and midway we realized there was no label/ marked trail and it was pretty steep. Thankfully we met a lady jogging up said this was the emergency route and directed us to the right path. She said she only did the emergency route intentionally to sweat. So you can do that if that’s what you prefer. Totally will come back here again to do another trail.
