Through the process of defining what was realistic, lots of research, and walking through many variations of sailboats the Hunter stood out by far. I can honestly say my broker, Darren Marriott, went beyond any expectations in making the purchase stress free and focused on the end goal, sailing away every weekend to discover the coast anew. Through the offer, mechanical, sea trial, survey and final purchase this 30 year old boat is going to be loved, even with a few inevitable issues to work on over the next few months. Darren helped with everything from getting insurance, temporary moorage, picking the boat up for it’s inaugural sail, organizing a haul out for repairs etc. He remained positive, communicative and optimistic through the entire process, helping to keep everything in perspective, while offering lots of suggestions and alternatives. This will always be my first boat, but likely not the last. I would highly recommend Darren and Specialty Yachts.

From the first contact to date, even after weeks after acquiring our new boat, Darren has been so helpful in many ways. He educated us about our new vessel, including what we should be watchful for. He lined up for a mechanical inspector and a surveyor. He helped us to get a dodger and a bimini put on and he was there at 7am in the morning on the day I sailed her away to our slip in Blaine. Darren is extremely knowledgeable about the boats, the surrounding cruising areas, and boat mechanics, but the most importantly, he is very willing to provide the best experience he can acquiring a boat, this was the real value for us. After working with him through this transaction, we will not sell or buy another boat without involving Darren at Specialty Yachts !!!

Lawrence and his staff had been showing me Hunter silboats for years when I would pop by Granville Island.Finally when I decided to look for "the" new boat, I reached out to Specialty Yachts for a hand. Darren showed me a number of boats around the lower mainland, meeting me at various marinas to show me 36 to 38 boats I was interested in. He would gently encourage me that going from 34 to 36 may not be apreachiated ?. Well, when we found the 41 in Ladysmith I was overwhelmed as to how I could purchase this boat as I live in Squamish and was working a job that I couldn't take time off at that point. Although I don't recommend buying a boat unseen, this is what was about to happen. Darren and Specialty Yachts did everything, from survey to haul out , sea trial, engine mechanical inspection and maitenace that was done with Stones Marina out of Nanaimo, and most importantly negotiating the final sale price. I was finally able to make time to bring Romanza home. We sailed from Ladysmith to Granville Island and arrived at Specialty Yachts dock where Lawrence greeted us and spent much time going over systems on the boat with me. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and it would never had happened if not for Lawrence and his team at Specialty Yachts. Bill Gates

Not only did Specialty Yachts promptly rectify them, they did so at their cost and more than satisfactorily so that our vessel was in better shape than before our sea trial. Lawrence spent considerable time answering our questions, going over the boat and lining up service providers for us. All around superb service and a very positive buying experience. When we are in the market for a new boat, we will most certainly turn to Specialty Yachts!
