About Southland Trailer Corp.
WELCOME TO SOUTHLAND TRAILER CORP.
The advantages Southland Trailer Corp. has over other facilities is our in-house fabrication capabilities which allow us to “think outside the box” when designing or improving our products. Minimal outsourcing mean tighter control over production runs and the capabilities to implement customer feedback immediately during our prototyping phase.
We purchase material in bulk. This allows us to fabricate and store “kits” in-house and streamlines the production run. When taking out the middleman, we have an increased communication between the project manager, engineer, and fab shop which has improved our product quality.
Teamwork is an essential element of STC operations. Even though we have large facilities and over 100 employees, interdepartmental cooperation has enhanced our designs, decreased lead times, and increased production without getting other vendors involved.

Rather disappointing quality
First off, your company does not respond to emails, EVER (THATS SOME GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE.....NOT!!
a $12000 trailer should be build much better than that
- ramp hinge spring system is absolutely useless, please stop using this and start using cables with overhead springs
-ramp plywood is only 3/8" thick, now what do you think will happen when you put something heavy on it??
That's right it crack right through !!
-24" spacing on all cross members and studs, yes many trailers are build like this, but a trailer at this price should have at least 16" spacing
- ramp hinges are cheap soft aluminum with 3/8" rod as a hinge pin, you really don't expect that to hold up do you?
My previous trailer was well under $10k and is build better, except the axles and wall studs profile

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They blocked me from putting a review up on Facebook!!!! So yes they are inconsistent, rude and hire ppl but first you have to job shadow like your an adolescent or student of some sort wanting a career with them!!! Job shadowing should not be 8 hours it should be brief for employment purposes!!! All they have done is find a loop hole in the system for free labor!!! Yes that's right they dont pay you to job shadow in thier company but make you work 8 hours!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This trailer is the worst piece of garbage i have ever owned. Floors are weak and bow when lifting, jack leg is too small, ramps are built cheap and break, too much box past the axle so it drags when dumping, the customer service from the deslers and head office is atrocious. Would never recommend these to anyone

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worst trailer I’ve ever had, I bought this trailer 6 months ago and about a month ago the it broke in half. Warranty won’t do anything about it because they say their steels rated for 20,000lbs but there’s no way I’ve even come close to what the trailers rated for. The most I’ve ever put on it is 6000lbs which is 1500lbs under its legal limit. I had pictures and proof of everything I’ve hauled on it showing that there’s no way it’s ever been overweight. They just seemed inconsiderate that I was out a bunch of money and a trailer, they made an assumption and wouldn’t honour there warranty.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Purchased SL280 HD, have put it to work for a month now:
-Cold welds on loading ramp brackets
-2k drop legs for 10k ramps means they bend and jam in the holder the first time you use them
-Loose bolts on hydraulic drop leg
-The thing drags on the ground when you dump
-had to cut around the tarp roller keeper for it to work
-Box is off center, left side tire sidewall rubs when you turn
-Door latch tube falls out once the self tapping screw, which is the only thing holding it in, falls out
-If you lower the box with low battery or if some dirt gets stuck in it, the vent cap of the hydraulic tank will pop off and send hydraulic oil all over.
Called Southland, offered voicemail of sales manager. Called again, offered voicemail of warranty manager. Emailed company, no response.
I have had 2 other brand dump trailers and they have each been a way better experience than the Southland.
Hydraulic vent issue, cold welds, inadequate drop legs and the loose bolts on the tongue jack are unacceptable and create serious hazards.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been working here for 3 months now and this is the healthiest environment I have ever seen, everyone is super friendly and supportive, bosses and supervisors are super helpful and not scared to get their hands dirty.
Opportunities here are endless, I did my welding training which is 100% free and I've learnt so much from the short 2 days of it, not only is there welding but dozens of other opportunities to chose from to fit everyone's personal preference.
This is definitely the place to work if you want to build high-end, quality trailers in a healthy environment ?.
