Our pup went to Poppy insecure and dominant. She had bit in the past, pulled on leash, barked and jumped at people and was aggressive with our other dog when she was in high energy mode. We have been working with other trainers and methods off and on for 6 yrs and nothing worked. After the board and train program with Poppy, our girl can visit at family's houses and remain calm, she walks at the heel, she greets people a lot more appropriately and best of all we feel as though we have full control over her....finally. Thanks Poppy for bringing peace to our home.?

I can't imagine my life with my dogs without the training they receieved at Source K9. My dogs have never been happier, they now have balance and security. I know that I have total control over them to keep them safe when we are out in any situation. I constantly have people comment how happy and well trained they are. Source K9 gave my dogs complete loving care, dedication and attention while they were at the facility. While there for lessons I got to observe the other dogs and it was wonderful to see how happy they all were. It is a dog paradise. Thank you Source K9 for all your help.

Rebecca and Poppy were invaluable in allowing myself and my boyfriend to keep our olde english bulldogge. After many reward-based trainers, training programs, and anti-aggression lessons, we were at a loss. It would be a roll of the dice going to dog parks, whether Chevy would "go alpha" and go after a dog/sink his teeth into them. After 3 weeks at Nanaimo K9, Chevy was a different dog. He was obedient, calm, but still had his good natured spunk to him. I had always been against e-collars, but with it, we have the freedom and confidence to walk Chevy around other dogs. I now know we aren't causing him pain, but only causing an irritation so that he can register that what he's doing is wrong. I can't thank them enough :)

The Last Stop. Newly adopted Nyx had been to a traditional chain trainer, then a positive reinforcement trainer who had to step away because she was unable to help us with Nyx's explosive reactivity to other dogs even on leash ones. Nyx soon after bit my wife in a blind rage trying to get to another dog outside walking our home. We were at the end of our abilities and our dog was getting worse. This was the last stop before she lived the rest of her natural life in a kennel and run. She is only 5years old. Rebecca gave us the tools to fairly communicate with Nyx what was expected of her. We did not rob her of her dog-ness or happiness. She is now able to be safely off leash, has a safe recall and has boundaries. Her technique is humane and clear. My beloved dog was on a crash coarse to no-where-good. Rebecca gave Nyx a chance to shine with limits and receive praise when success is achieved. She's a Tibetan Mastiff and now a lovely example of what the breed can rise to if effectively communicated with. Its hard work but worth it. She was worth it her happiness and dog-love is boundless and Rebecca and crew gave us a gift. Nyx.

These fantastic people saved our dog. He was incredibly dominant. Poppy and Rebecca made him, and showed us how to make him, be a respectful, happy, and loving animal. He's no longer expressing dominance issues and is happier for it. Source K9 is the only trainers I would recommend.

Jersey’s a border collie/pyrenees cross who was around 14 months when we took her to Poppy. She’s always had a very sweet temperament, and we were always very much about positive reinforcement training initially. Our issues started around 7 to 8 months when Jersey would start whining, barking, and lunging at other dogs on our walk. We just assumed this was her β€œteen” phase, and we just needed to keep on our training. Positive reinforcement never worked consistently. After several months, her issues kept getting progressively worse, and we started using harnesses then switched to a halti. Both were temporary fixes that never really solved the issues, and we felt we needed to address these behaviours. We were getting frustrated, the dog we got to take into the outdoors with us can’t even make it around the block without reacting. We came across Poppy in our search, and after hours of research we decided it can’t hurt just to consult with her. I felt much better after speaking with her, and we decided on a 2 week board and train. Our biggest fear going into this was we were making a mistake. That this would be overkill for our problems, ruining our sweet girl, and make her fearful. Meeting Poppy in person was a huge relief, she is obviously very experienced, and I felt we were leaving our girl in good hands. We’re a couple weeks out from when we got her back from the board and train as I’m writing this. We can now take Jersey anywhere on or off leash. She’s been recalled off rabbits, birds, and other dogs. She’s been to pet stores and trails. We feel like we can communicate clearly with her to manage her over excitement. We still have to put in the work but we enjoy it now. We can challenge Jersey with new situations because we can work through it with her. If you would have asked me when we first got Jersey if we would use an ecollar with her, I would have said absolutely not. Obviously, I was very wrong. I highly recomend Poppy, and her training. She gave us updates over the 2 weeks, and has been prompt when responding after the board and train with any question we had. Jersey is still her same sweet self but is enjoying significantly more freedom.

We have a 5-year-old cane corso x, Seth, who has been a dominant, head strong, and protective dog who would react to the mailman, other dogs while out walking, and sometimes other single people out walking. After we found out that we were pregnant, his behaviour escalated and we reached out to Poppy after Seth slipped out of our front door and pinned a passing dog to the sidewalk. No one was injured, but we were nervous that the behaviour had escalated to this point, especially with a new baby coming into our lives. After an initial phone consult with Poppy, she was confident that her two lesson package would be sufficient to help us learn how to manage Seth's protective and dominant behaviour. We were skeptical, but trusted her and, boy, are we happy that we did. We purchased an e-collar and went to our first lesson with Poppy. After the first lesson, we had already seen changes in Seth. We continued with what we learned and Seth has become calm, non-reactive dog who is more confident, loving, and most importantly-not reactive. We are now comfortable walking Seth at peak hours, he is indifferent to the mailman when he comes to our house. Seth has changed for the better, and it's all thanks to Poppy.

My Malinois was feak aggressive and on occasion dangerous. 2 weeks of board and train with Poppy saved her life. We has a dog who we can trust around friends and family and more importantly she's a happier pup!
