R	R E on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was with Soengkono martial arts for many years before I left Thunder Bay. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Grandmaster Soengkono. Having studied in various other locations I can say this is truly the best place I have ever trained. Master Soengkono brings everything you want to a dojo, and I can say that I truly miss training there, as there is no higher quality one would want to find when looking for a martial arts place to train.

His keen understanding of martial arts is incredible. His technical knowledge is very specific and often times mind boggling. As well, his philosophy and approach to teaching martial arts is outstanding. I have been training in Martial Arts since I was young so, I’ve had a few teachers. His philosophical approach to Martial Arts is what changed my life for the better. It added on to what I know today. It has also made me into a better person. Aside from Grandmaster Soengkono himself, all of the students and other teachers are very good as well. They understand what they are teaching. They have the skill set to back it up, and are thoroughly passionate about it as well. Whether you’re just starting out, or have been training previously; I highly recommend going to Soengkono World Class Martial Arts. My experience training with GM Soengkono and all of the students at this dojo has changed my life for the better.

Grandmaster Soengkono not only teaches Taekwondo but helped grow me into the person I have become today. He makes sure to incorporate his teachings of martial arts into life lessons and connects with each of his students. The other students in my class are some of the greatest friends I have ever had. I even got my first job from the connections I had made. To Master Soengkono I am forever grateful for you. You have built my confidence and given me the ability to do amazing things in life.

He truly cares about every student , and takes time to work with each one of them. The other teachers at World Class Martial Arts are also great and very patient. Thunder Bay is very fortunate to have Grandmaster Soengkono. He really is one of a kind.

Soengkono World Class Martial Arts is unlike any Dojo/ Instructional Academy I've ever had the privilege to train at! The quality of teaching is unmatched, the welcoming attitude of the entire student body is phenomenal, & the wisdom that Grand Master Soengkono imparts, truly lasts a life time! The senior instructors are just as gifted and talented in teaching & training as G.M. Soengkono himself. Not only do you learn at the highest levels, but this quality of master-level training is infused with humble knowledge and practical application. I'm a Social Worker that works in the front-lines with many underprivileged and potentially dangerous individuals; My Aikido, Silat & Tai-Chi training has been invaluable in my every day professional and personal life. Master Soengkono's motto was "I don't teach students, I teach teachers." This is a phrase that still rings true today, as it did decades ago... but now those teachers are your master instructors! After we hung up the phone I knew right away this was where she had to be. He was so kind, caring and understanding on that call, and even more so in person. Master Seong teaches so much more than martial arts. During his classes you learn about respect, confidence, kindness, patience and other important qualities. No matter the size of the class he always makes time for students, and makes them feel welcome immediately not only by introducing new students to the class, but by remembering their name from day one.
