Absolutely amazing first time experience. Lots of water after couple of days of substantial rains. The viewing platform is right over the falls and very close to the limited parking. Be prepared for a tough hike on the side trail; especially on the way back up. Make sure you have good hiking boots and strong legs.

Nice little waterfall. Just to be aware: parking is small especially with all the snow and the trail going down the waterfall is not maintained and therefore very icy. Not recommended for kids or elderly as it is dangerous. Must be nice when winter is over. I'd do 4* then.

This is a great hiking location however their are some cons. Parking on location is limited, there is no road parking nearby and signs now prevent easy access to the bottom of the falls. The good news is the hike is well marked, well built with stairs and embankments, and this trail leads to the Bruce trail so you can effectively hike as far as you want to and back. I highly recommend visiting, I just wish the community was more accommodating for visitors.

Walked from Mountain Brow Rd to the falls and back. 3.5 hour walk, crossed through bridges, walked by creeks and rapids. A very beautiful walk. This part of the Bruce Trail is not flat though; went up and down tall hills constantly, which is fine for those with the stamina. It was about a 17,000 step hike, give or take. Best to travel when dry for a few days, as there was some long patches of mud though it hadn't rained the day before.

Very beautiful waterfall and river, but the trail itself is way too muddy and slippery. I know it is spring, but we go on hikes every weekend and this trail is the worst in perspective of how mudy it is. Otherwise, it a very scenic hike. Totally worth visiting at least once.

Visited Smokey Hollow Waterfall in winter is an amazing experience. The waterfall is frozen but still pours down into an iced base which resembles a jungle of stalagmites. Since the slopes are covered in deep snow with ice beneath, visitors should wear icers and be extra careful. The place is absolutely beautiful and fascinating.

A moderate hiking trail with a bunch of up and down hill paths. The waterfall is really nice but you’re no longer allowed to walk close to it. There are paths set up far away now and trespassing signs are put up. The rest of the trail along the water is also very nice

What's better than a roaring waterfall and the calming sounds of water flowing downstream? This trail is great for those that enjoy hiking hilly terrain. Be forewarned, it can be challenging for anyone who struggles with steep inclines and descents. One of the great things about this trail is that it connects to the Bruce Trail, so you can hike for hours here if your heart so desires (I did 8 hours one time). In terms of the Smokey Hollow trail, it's well-marked (white markers) and easy to follow. There's a side trail that you can catch along the way that's marked in blue. I spotted a garter snake and several DeKay's brown snakes here during my last visit. One important thing to note is that the there is very limited parking here on Mill Street - either go early to ensure a spot without having to wait, or alternatively, you can park at the end of Hidden Valley Road and hike the trail in reverse. Police actively check the parking lot and even patrol along the entrance of the trail, where you can be fined for climbing down below the waterfall.
