SkyFire installed a 13.8 kW with 36 PV panels and a SolarEdge inverter system on our home. It had been planned for a long time and when the Canada Greener Homes program was announced we jumped at the opportunity to complete our goal of moving to a β€œnet zero” home in the City of Calgary. Our home was designed in 1981 with a plan to have solar electric so we had no natural gas installed in the home from the beginning. It is a double wall home (2 ft walls) with extreme low energy design from the ground up. The SkyFire folks fit the bill for the best company to work with a complex installation with the inverter installed on the second floor near our secondary panel. Double walls are great until work needs to be completed from the outside to the inside then it requires lots of skill and planning to ensure that access to all the power cabling aligns correctly. Nick Theriault and Rory Kirkpatrick both worked as a team to ensure that the layout was optimal for the maximum power that could be installed on the 100amp panel board that we have in our home as it was not possible to upgrade the service panel board or the Enmax service. The sizing will provide ample power over the year to complete our plan to be β€œNet Zero”. The PV panel installation team was great with a short planning discussion before the work started to ensure the understanding of the very deep walls. The installation team worked very safe as we often have strong winds at out home. We added the SolarEdge monitoring system with the CT’s to the main panel board in the basement. This allows us to monitor and understand our electrical usage patterns to make best use of the PV power generated. Overall the planning, ordering and installation went very smooth and we are now very pleased that after 3 months the system is exceeding the expected output estimates provided in the quotation. We received our first Enmax power bill and it was great to see a rebate on the power sent to the grid as well as very low power use from the grid (used mostly power internally PV generated). It is wonderful to now be able to be a β€œNet Zero” house as part of our solution for climate change; as this has been an important part of our life decisions since 1981 in the design and building of our own home in the City of Calgary. Many thanks to the whole SkyFire team for all the great work and execution of the installation.

SkyFire installed solar panels at our home in 2020. From my first encounter with the sales team, through to their customer support, they have been nothing short of exceptional. Professional, clean and detailed in their planning and execution. Highly recommend them for your project!

Anis and the rest of the installation team did a wonderful job with our system. They were so kind, efficient and did a great job ensuring everything was done well. I really appreciated how easy the installation was! I'd also like to mention that James the PM was fantastic as well, and overall I had a great experience with SkyFire.

SkyFire installed a small system on my home in December 2021. The service and communication was great all the way through the process, including setting expectations on timelines and the different parties involved. Really appreciated the status updates from my project manager throughout and their availability to answer all my questions. Definitely would recommend.

We had an excellent experience overall. We have a south-facing roof on our detached garage and had been thinking of panels for quite some time. We finally took the plunge after getting quotes from three places. I want to make a specific comment on this, as it was one of the deciding factors on who we went with. Of the three places we received quotes from, SkyFire was the only one that talked to me without the β€œfluff”. That is, they treated me like a potential customer and solar owner rather than a β€œtarget” for a marketing presentation. The conversations were tailored to the level of knowledge I requested, and it was lovely. Pricing was competitive as well, so that helps too! As for the install, I was very pleased with the crew they sent. Personable, efficient, cleaned up like they were never there, answered all my annoying questions, etc. We combined our solar panel install with a incoming grid service/panel upgrade, and it looks great!! Mounting rails, optimizers, wire management, panels, inverter, new load centre and meter (because of the service upgrade from 100A to 200A) - everything looks great and works perfectly. Unexpected difficulties with installation (the service upgrade was a tricky one!) were all explained/communicated and rectified quickly - these are things that happen with all big projects and the way people and companies handle them show their values and true colours - I was very pleased. To finalize things, our Project Manager made sure we were set for years to come (as the warranties for the products are actually quite good) - documents, descriptions, all permitting and microgeneration arrangements, government grant/reimbursement requirements, etc. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to a friend or family member, and I hope to have more of my own projects for them to tackle in the future!

We installed our 8.28kW solar system through SkyFire - love it! From our initial discussions and design consultations with Nick we were pleased with the knowledge and professionalism. Our PM, Rory, was great at addressing concerns and questions regarding installation and options for later expansion as required. The crew that came out for the two days of install were top notch - walked us through the steps and made sure we were happy with wire routing, appearances, etc. Super happy with the purchasing and installation process, and have had excellent post-install support discussions with the SkyFire team! There's a reason they've had 25 years of success!

Skyfire installed my 4KW system in 2 days and passed inspection with no issues. They are very thorough with the design and implementation with multiple visits to site to plan and manage the project. I'm producing about 23 KWH per day with full sun so the spring and summer will yield some great results. The payback period and ROI should be around 5 years including the government grant so I'm very pleased with the results.
