About Sizzling Dhaba

Sizzling Dhaba brings the colors, flavors, and riches of a traditional Indian Dhaba to the locals in the metropolitan area. Traditionally, a Dhaba is a roadside restaurant or cafe found on highways and on the outskirts of cities, towns, and villages. Dhabas were initially started by enterprising Punjabi’s to cater to the needs of truckers, for wholesome, clean, and hot authentic Punjabi food at any hour of the day or night.

2022 - This is still our favourite spot for East Indian cuisine. We come in from out of town every few months just to eat here. The people are wonderful, the location is good, and the food is superb! 2021 - We come from out of town to eat here. Have never had a bad experience. Yes - they do seem abrupt at times, but you can find that anywhere. Not a deal breaker. New readers - please support local and give this place the chance they deserve!

It’s good for people who know nothing about authentic Indian food, they shouldn’t be serving frozen stuff in the Indian restaurant. Rather go to McDonald’s if I want frozen stuff

Food was good, enjoyed it , but very pricey. A dozen samosas and chickpea Curry was in the $35 range. When samosas are $12 for a dozen vegetable that means the one bowl of Chick Curry I got was in the $20 range.

We ordered takeout and the food was amazing. Very well prepared and flavorful. The spicy, crunchy, soft, smooth, and creamy combination of flavors was amazing.

I preordered for an event the night before and the girl who picked up said the order with be ready for pickup between 3-4pm. So I got to the restaurant at 3:30 and the girl at the front said β€œoh we just starting preparing your order now so it’ll be be ready within an hour.” This is by far one of the worst service I’ve had from an Indian restaurant in winnipeg. I understand that they could fall behind in time, but the least they could’ve done was give me a call as they took down my number for the order. I was one of their regulars, and I will not be returning due to their unprofessionalism.

Ordered take out and all five dishes were delicious; don't let the negative comments put you off. I honestly can't understand why people feel the need to complain about the owner. I have always found the staff her to be friendly and the service excellent, some people are complainers, simple as that. Restaurateurs' are under a lot of pressure, cut them some slack!

Coming from the UK I was used to having a lot of authentic Indian restaurants nearby some good others not so good, sizzling for me has captured the essence of real cooking with a slightly westernized touch, its one of my top two places to eat in, do take out or have delivered Bravo.

Ordered a Vegan Thali which had chana masala, aloo matar, dal tadka, papadum, rice, vegan samosa, naan, jalebi, laddu and hot mix pickles. For under $20 it was definitely worth it and very filling. Staff was also very friendly
