★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super nice place. Very good food. The waiter is super friendly very helpful. Very patient. I was quite impressed to see they check the vaccination status. This gives me confidence to go to the restaurant without any hesitation. The food was amazing. Our phone died and the server patiently waited till we restarted out phone with battery pack. We ordered two Lassi to share between three people he split the two shakes into there made our life easier. I very strongly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Sitar Restaurant provides the entrance to another "reality". One of the oldest East Indian restaurants in Vancouver. The owner Kulbir is a master chef in the East Indian cuisine tradition. The ambiance, music, art, and the architectural detailing inside creates the feeling of adventure, a trip to another world of smells, tastes, and of course a "chai" tea. Black Indian tea, boiled milk, surgar or honey, cardonmen, cinnamon, amazing taste, and settling contribution after a chicken or lamb curry.
The appetizers are not to be forgotten, and best to share! Vegetable pakoras: chick pea flour, onions, spices, spinach, and spices! Pick up with your fingers, and dip in tamarin chutney, and green mint chutney.
Something special:
Alu Paratha: stuffed chapati: potato, spices to dip in chutneys and a yogurt dip consisting of shredded cucumber, and black pepper
A wonderful Gastown perennial, for lunch, a mid afternoon delight, and of course a dinner to remember. Unrushed, wonderful service, staff asking you if you require anything, and are enjoying your cuisine choices!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Omg so yummy ? thank you ?? for the good ?? food ?. The staff is friendly and helpful…. Prices are reasonable. Went there with my daughters and a friend… it’s close to gastown so it was walking ??♀️ distance away and even on a rainy ? it’s a nice ? walk ??♀️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great experience for this style of restaurant. The service was great and the food was flavourful. They have hefty portions and it’s definitely worth a visit, especially for a family outing. If you enjoy the ‘mom and pop’ style restaurants, especially Indian, this place is for you.
