I've been to their emergency department on many occasions and have only had the best care and attention. The nurses and doctors I found to be very caring and reassuring. Wait times are the shortest.

The makers of Fentanyl, Insys Therapeutics, is a donor to the Sinai Health Foundation. A palliative care doctor from Mount Sinai Hospital threatened me with arrest by the police for neglect of my husband if we did not allow her to install a Fentanyl pump in the abdomen of my husband. After one visit to him accompanied by Community Care Access and with the knowledge of the private agency, Spectrum, she appeared at the door of our home address and told us if we didn't let her in, she would call the police and have my ill husband removed from our home. Once in his bedroom with a nurse, she threatened to have me arrested for neglect if I did not allow her to install a Fentanyl pump system on my husband's abdomen. She had the pump installed, called the police anyways and had my husband removed from our home. I and my 2 sons spent 2 miserable days worrying about him.n In the palliative care section of Toronto East General, he spent one and a half days during which he was also drugged with the psychiatric drug Haldol. The only food he had was a tin of pudding. I hired a private ambulance to bring him home where he wanted to be. The affair cost our family $200 in ambulance fees for the whole affair. After that one visit to my husband, this palliative care doctor from Mount Sinai had an unmarked box of drugs delivered within a few hours to our porch. It contained enough drugs to kill my husband. Here is the list: injectable morphine, injectable hydromorphone (6 times stronger than morphine), injectable Haldol ( a psychiatric drug), the antidepressant Lorazepam, Glycopyrrolate (a drug used in surgery to dry up the body's secretions), the zombie drug Scopolomine, Acetominophen suppositories and the drug Midazolam used in physician-assisted suicide. The packing list did not even list Fentanyl (50 to 100 times stronger than heroine) as part of this box of substances from Calea Pharmacy. Not one of us family members had any idea of the existence of these drugs in our home until we opened the box some weeks later. Is this INFORMED CONSENT and is this HELPING CAREGIVERS IN A TIME OF NEED? Fortunately for our family and due to the tender care we gave to our loved one, this doctor and this nurse did not have the opportunity to assault him with these poisons. The fact that the maker of Fentanyl is a research partner with the Sinai Health Foundation is a conflict of interest.
