This building, which was completed in 1917, was originally the Silverton School. In 2008, it became a Municipal Heritage Building, it was renamed the Silverton Gallery in 1978. There is an outdoor moving exhibit, with various mining equipment and other local artifacts displayed on the gallery lawn. This includes two large mining towers which were used to convey the ore from the mines high up the hills down to the boats for transport to the mill. When we visited, the building was closed but the grounds were free and very interesting to tour, an informative and fun stop.
