They don't take credit card without an exorbitant fee. Book directly with the airline for half the price and save your money.

All the people working at this place is either liar, or people who is working diligently hard at ditching others. Again, never never go to these agencies operated by Chinese, I mean this is not necessarily racism, but a common impression, that is numerous lies, and making traps for you to jump. Gradually this place will lose valuable customers, and is greatly for us on Google to unveil the dirty, nasty deals existed between each of these cockroaches.

Upon walking in the 2 agents were busy on the computer and one on the phone. Never greeted. I sat down and an employee came into the store said hi, mentioned she's on lunch but one of the ladies would help. we sat for 15min. Not once acknowledged or apologized for the wait. Instead 15 min later she rudely asked what we were waiting for and when we explained we were waiting for one of them to help, she said she had no idea and that WE didn't say anything. It's YOUR job to greet your customers. How oblivious are you? When we said we will take our money else where, she rudely said ok and continued with her business. Horrible customer service. Didn't even try to save face. Horrible and rude!

You get what you pay for. Never have I ever understood these words as much as went I went to Silkway Travel. When we walked in, the agents were on their phone chatting away without ever glancing at us or acknowledging us.After 15 minutes, we finally talked to one of them, but only after we took the initiative. The prices on the posters were COMPLETELY wrong, and we were given worse service than when before. The agents then hastily put our names down and demanded payment immediately. We said we weren't sure yet because this was a lot of money. They said no money, no cruise. Reluctantly we gave our money hoping we made the right decision. We received a phone call saying we come retrieve our documents for the cruise. We were indignant. We were moved to windowless rooms when we paid for suites with outdoor views. When we stormed to the agency, they just shrugged their shoulders and replied that too bad, it is what it is. That's why they told us to pay an expensive deposit. They knew this would happen and feared customers demanding refunds. They were prepared. After hours of justifying our argument, we were finally moved to a room with a view of outside. We should have been prepared for this, because turns out our room was blocked by rows and rows of lifeboats. That's why Silkway stopped arguing with us. That's not all, the cruise was delayed for 5 hours with safety precautions because supplies hadn't arrived yet. Fortunately, at least we had a relatively good time on the cruise. However, this will be the last time I ever step foot upon SilkWay Travel.

Silkway as a company has very rigid company policy. To pay for your ticket you have to either pay in person or scan them the front and back of your credit card and driver's license with an authorization form. With the increased risks of internet identity theft, it seems counter intuitive to have such an out dated company policy. Another rigid policy of their is when you cancel or change a ticket, they will charge you a $50 fee per ticket. Lastly, the information they provide in terms of airline policy is inaccurate. They really are a middle person between the customer and the airlines and have to phone the airlines for every little question. My advice is, save yourself some money and hassle and book directly with the airlines yourself.

If I could give a negative star rating I would totally do so. I feel the employee of the Crystal mall branch are just very unprofessional. When we went to the branch just to inquire about package cost and all, the staff just put on the attitude of this is the best price already, if you don't make the full payment in cash or debt right now you'll be getting a more expensive rate. I can understand a lot of Chinese places have a certain request to pay in cash or debt, but to pay for a 4 digit travel package in cash? This is a little over. She did not inform about the credit option until weeks later after I inquire about this at other Silkway branches and then this staff answered credit card is an option but need to pay an additional 3% surcharge. So then I have a question on my mind now, was she enjoying herself just looking at me and my friend having to go line up at 2 different banks to get $1300 cash and then rush back just to make sure we are able to pay before they close? She also then indicate that because we are not her regulars so she did not suggest us to make payment via credit card. Another thing is, as to my understanding now, all travel agencies allow you to make a reservation on the booking for a short period of time before making a full payment. The staff there just basically gave us the look of you can't make reservation you must make payment right away. As a newbie in purchasing tour packages at a travel agency, I can't believe how unprofessional the staffs are. I would suggest to either goto different branches (which at least the one in Metrotown gave me a better attitude) or just a different agency in general.

If you don't speak fluent Chinese in Mando or Canto don't bother went together with friend and he was totally ignored not to mention their flyers for discount mainly in Chinese
