Great location to be with nature. Stars at night shine bright and major constellations can be easily spotted from this resort.

Realy good place to spend summer vacation. Me and my family (wife and two kids) just came back. Everybody had good time. Mike the owner of resort was realy nice and helpfull. Cabins are clean spacious. Lots things to do ( fishing, boating, swiming, kayaking). Recomend to my friends and family.

A great campground with extremely friendly hosts! Mike and Wanda run a wonderful escape from the grind of every day life. Cabin rentals are very affordable and come with a free canoe. They're worth every penny! The river next to Silgrey is labeled as the Madawaska. This is incorrect and I hopoe Google changes it. The river is actually called the York River. It flows out of Algonquin Provincial Park and empties into the Madawaska River near Combermere. Great fishing, great people, great vacation. I always look forward to visiting Silgrey.

It's not horrible. Very old school feel. Not much cell service, so if you can't go without technology, this wouldn't be a good place. It's very deep into the woods as well, so there are ALOT and I mean ALOT of bugs. Even with all the bug spray we brought. Still not enough. Beach is about a 5 mins drive away so that was nice to get to. Not sure I'd go back as there isn't a whole lot to do other then sit outside but even that is to much cause the bugs are unbearable.

My review may seem skewed as I have lived in this area (so I know the charm of 'rustic' very well). With that said, I've also been a renter at Silgrey - staying with friends and family - so in my heart I know this is an unbiased review. Ready? Rustic. Cabin. Housekeeping cottage. No running water in cabins (at least I don't think there is). If you are tough enough or ready for some adventurous living enough to get past those first items, you will find serenity with a glimpse into yesteryear. The cabins are clean and have everything you need. The hosts are gracious. The water in the shower building is hot and plentiful. The views of the river are glorious all year long. Go fishing. Sit around the fire. Get to bed early and sleep deep in silence. Rise early and rested. Eat real food. Hike. Marvel at how you don't really need cell service to be happy. Talk to the people around you. Do a puzzle. Read a book. Journal. (At least that's how I enjoy Silgrey.)

The BEST BEST BEST rustic resort you can find in Ontario!! Mike & Wanda are the best hostess ever. We found this gem back in 2005 after renting a cabin close by that was HORRIBLE. We took a drive and came across Silgrey. Mike and Wanda let our group of 15 stay there for 10 days before they were even open for business for mere pennies. They showed us around caves and mines and taught us the joy of exploring the great up north. We have been going back ever since. We even had our wedding there in 2015!! You just HAVE to go there !!! XO Mike & Wanda. We love you guys? P.S. great fishing and the Conroy marsh is amazing ??
