Shoppers Drug Mart

Once the best pharmacy in town a chance of owner made it downright dangerous. That is a number of errors were made with my prescription and despite not wanting frequent dispensing and having tried to get things back to a month the day came when the owner/pharmacist came out with my medication and threatened to leave without them if I did not sign. I asked him to sign that having dispensed my medication several of which had anti-convulsant properties he had opted not to give them to me . ( You can die from a withdrawal seizure .. Homicidal was not a good look for the new owner . The previous one was fantastic ) it is right downtown so sometimes handy for other things in our age of heightened awareness that scents can be an issue you not only can't enter without passing through the heavily scented beauty area you can't access the elevator I'm asthmatic among other things. While not viewing myself as that sensitive to the average amount of scents people wear I think very few people want to be breathing perfume. I do cover my face and hold my breath if my rescue inhaler is at home and as my asthma is well controlled it usually is. The staff for the most part are friendly . There is a fair bit of chaos over the optimum PC points issue but it's not the only place opting into different rewards programs . If you don't mind breathing heavily scented air it's still okay for the things you forgot elsewhere. Avoid it at all costs for medications if yours are remotely complicated.

The woman who works at the cosmetics counter is always so friendly and helpful - really goes above and beyond. Always go to this location for makeup just because of her. Thank you for your hard work!!

I just wanted to shout out Vicky! I have gone to this shoppers frequently in and out of the last few years and she has always been beyond kind, positive and helpful. I don't think i have ever encountered her in a negative mood and i hope she is appreciated!! Thanks for aways being so friendly.

I shop at the Fort Street outlet and have been consistently very pleased with the help, products and advice that I have received. In particular, Jesna, in the cosmetics and beauty section has been very helpful. She takes the time to ascertain what I'm looking for and what my concerns are and then she has given the best recommendation. so I am very happy with my experiences there and warmly recommend this shop!

I will change to a different drug store after todays ‘experience.’ I called in my prescription refill request yesterday and said no rush . She says great thanks they will be ready tomorrow. I waited 10 min for them to look for them only to realize the pharmacist was working on them. She says you will have to talk to him , the pharmacist. The pharmacist was giving the guy waiting for his prescription a tutorial on pharmacies even though he didn’t ask. I asked her to talk to the pharmacist and she said he’s busy with a customer. The customer said he will back away from the counter ( as the pharmacist was pontificating to him’ Both the grey haired woman And pharmacist were rude in their responses to me. When finally I got the one item I had to have today and paid for the rest it was 1/2 hr . I said this to the 3 rd helper and he responded with ‘ call it in2 days before hand’ I’m done , I don’t recognize any of those people working on this Saturday and will talk to the owner.

Dear Shopper's: Good experience at the pharmacy this morning [as usual] followed by terrible experience at main cashier; moral of story for customers and potential customers: with one cash register open, don't get behind someone buying lottery tickets who takes 10 minutes to make up their mind. Best to walk out if it happens to you

We moved to the island and thought that this was a good pharmacy to go to because we used to be with Shoppers Drug Mart in edmonton. It went OK for a couple months and then we were really upset with the service from a pharmacist. There were repeated times when she came across as irritated because I phoned regarding my prescription, asking some questions regarding it. I guess the last straw was when I called about some information and the person who answered the phone forgot to mute the call. The pharmacist said what does he want now? Just couldn’t believe how bad she was. In the end we transferred to a different pharmacy and they have been excellent.

This specific Shoppers Dr Mart is in our neighbourhood and has been our family pharmacy for many years. We continue to experience excellent, individualized customer service from both the store front staff as well as the exceptionally skilled and dedicated pharmacy team. I have worked as a RN for 4 decades and know first hand the absolute huge demands our pharmacy teams are under-never mind what Covid added!. We are very grateful to have this local pharmacy and its staff to help us navigate and coordinate this important branch of our healthcare. Thank you Shoppers team!.
