I have attended pretty much every one of Sharon's Talk and Learn sessions since she started in 2020. The original goal, I think, was to help us get through the pandemic without losing our minds, but that quickly transformed to a weekly session wherein we can learn more about our craft and our art - how to get better at both. I can certainly say that I have learned a great deal, and I still look forward to each week's session. Thank you Sharon for sharing your talent and expertise so willingly - we have all become better for it.

Sharon provides insight into many aspects of photography through select, weekly subjects. She describes, and uses examples, of criteria to understand the particular subject matter. Sharon then follows up with photographs submitted in advance by participants and she explains, in a straight-forward manner, what either makes or does not make the photograph a good example of the subject matter. Her approach is the type of meaningful feedback that will help participants learn to assess their work critically, and improve their photography. She then finishes by editing in Photoshop with examples using submitted photographs to show how the photograph could be improved. Sharon has helped me to understand the elements of creating an interesting and impactful photograph.

Sharon is a wonderful teacher of photography and photo post processing. She combines artistry and technology to provide her students and workshop participants with vision and skills to improve their work as photographers. I highly recommend her courses and workshops for anyone from beginner to advanced levels. You won’t be disappointed.

Sharon has helped me a great deal in β€œseeing” the ARTISTIC aspect of photography. Although there are many talented technical photography teachers, Sharon has the knack to directly relate technical skills to making impactful photographs. She has produced eye-popping images, especially her minimalist architecturals - my personal favourites. And finally, she has spend many hours providing free weekly learning sessions to promote the art of photography for many of us.

As an instructor, Sharon is very patient, well organized, and has a good sense of humour. Her classes are fun, and you are learning from one of the best! I've taken several of her classes, learned tons, and will likely take any future online courses that she offers. While struggling to learn Photoshop on my own, I heard about her online classes. Rather than overwhelm you, she has distilled the curriculum down to the essence of what you need to know, she explains the concepts in a way that is easy to understand, and makes sure you get it before she moves on. You receive a recording of the class, a copy of her presentation, and a homework assignment so you can practice. Between her online classes and weekly Talk and Learn sessions - which are free - Sharon has had a huge influence on how I approach photography. She gives you honest feedback on your images, pushes you to think in new and creative ways, and during the pandemic when our lives had been turned upside down, she created a truly welcoming community for those of us who share a love of photography to come together.

I got introduced to Sharon work recently and one workshop with Sharon gave me great experience, new techniques in photography and image processing. Sharon is a great teacher. She creates relaxed and friendly atmosphere that allows participants to feel free enough to learn how to express themselves through their images. Sharon well organized and attentive. It is a privilege to learn from wonderful artist and generous person.

Sharon is an amazing teacher. Her Basic Photoshop course gets you up and running quickly with photo editing. I attend her free Zoom β€œTalk and Learn” sessions on Tuesdays. She has a very easy to understand, straightforward method of instructing. One of the many things she has taught me is understanding how to use gradients and light better. Her photography inspires me to look at everything differently and try different compositions etc. I highly recommend her courses and β€œTalk and Learn” to elevate your photography!

How lucky we are that Sharon, this bright talented artist and teacher, has so freely (literally) and openly shared herself and her talent with so many of us across the globe during the pandemic. By sharing her β€œTalk & Learn Sessions” on a weekly basis for the past two years, she has delivered not only a much needed source of positivity during an otherwise dark time, but she has also challenged each of us to expand our own artistic horizons. Now at episode # 93 I find myself not only forever grateful to Sharon for brightening my week by sharing her generosity, kindness, time and talent but I also find my skills as a photographer have grown exponentially over the past two years. As a hobbyist photographer, I had tried so many times to learn Photo Shop, but it wasn’t until taking my first workshop with Sharon, β€œBasic Photo Shop”, that I found someone speaking a language I could understand. Rather than investing in gear, I elected to invest in myself by studying under one of the best by taking Sharon’s online workshops including all three levels of Photo Shop, Image Stacking, Long Exposure, ICM and the Advanced Talk and Learn. The professionalism of her presentations, her teaching methods, her thoughtful well researched materials and assignments really accelerated my photographic journey. The recordings and notes she provides her students in the workshops continue to be invaluable to me, as are the many friendships that have been formed through lively group discussions. I highly recommend you invest in yourself and your own photographic journey by having your eyes opened to the beauty in the world while also expanding your Photo Shop skills by taking at least one of Sharon’s courses. Like me, you’ll have so much fun that one probably won’t be enough!
