About Sharetea 17th Ave SW

Mr. Cheng Kai-Lung, the founder of Sharetea, was working in the film and TV industry as a director in 1992. Although being a director seems like one of the most glamorous jobs in the world, he was not satisfied yet. He quit his job and started his own tea street vendor business. At first, he encountered many hardships, but instead of giving up, he deeply believed “when you have strong faith, big thing happens”.

After all the hard work he put in, Sharetea was adored by the crowd, and that was how the first Sharetea store got started.

Don’t get me wrong, their tea is pretty good. Ordered two and they were both decent. When it comes to their service, that’s where all the start deductions happen. I went during their grand opening where it was buy one get one free and the cashier was so terrible because she didn’t know what she was doing! When you order two for the price of one (as that was their grand opening deal), she didn’t apply the deal automatically and tried to get me to pay for two drinks. She also did not know how to apply the deal and had to call for help every freakin customer and REFUSED to get off the till. That tells you a lot about this place. Once I got my drink, the seal was not on properly so it leaked, I took it back and instead of making me a new drink for the faulty seal, they experimented with my drink for their sealers (sealing the cup then flipping it to find that it was still leaking and repeating this process multiple times). Finally when the seal went on correctly after the fifth try, they gave me the same cup back! If they want customers in this bubble tea crazed town with so many other options, they are definitely going to have to work on their customer service. The one star is for the drinks. For service, I’d give zero stars.

Ordered the Okinawa milk tea. Taste was good, but nothing to write home about. Waited for over 30 minutes to get my drink. I counted 8 employees not including the mascot. They were incredibly inefficient for having so much staff. There are better BB tea franchises out there.

I feel bad leaving a bad review but I’ve been sitting here for 20 minutes waiting for my bubble tea just for the lady working to ask me what I wanted in my drink… I’m confused what she’s been doing the whole time.

It’s a classic bubble tea place. If you want a bubble tea TEA, this is the place you want to go. For more speciality drinks, or fruity drinks, I might recommend somewhere else. Overall not bad! Staff are super friendly and great!

The staff was friendly but I didn't really like the drinks. The Honey lemon with aloe vera was super sour even at 100% sugar. The Hokkaido milk tea with pearls tasted weird.

The flavour of the milk tea was really nice. I enjoyed the aroma of the tea as well. The pearls were a little bit hard though.
