Well, in a nutshell, it helps the environment. Preventing that water bottle or pop can you just finished from going into the garbage or worse, being tossed in the street, reduces waste which prevents pollution and makes our world a cleaner place to live. It is everyone’s responsibility to be part of the solution for this generation and the next.
There is great concern that Canada’s landfills are reaching capacity. According to a study by Environment Canada, landfills produce 25% of Canada’s methane emissions. In 2013, Albertans diverted over 2 billion empty beverage containers away from landfills, saving over 715 million kilowatts of energy.
Recycling in Alberta can also help support community clubs and organizations that raise funds through bottle drives. Recycling also creates jobs at depots that employ thousands of Albertans contributing to the province’s economy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice people there as they kp it clean n respectable to the customers n the one girl I dealt with after was very nice as she was going in and out retrieving shopping carts for the customers to out bottles in and she was getting wet from rain. She was very nice n smiled.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staff have always been polite and quick other than today Brenda (I think Her name was) was so rude .! My Receipt wouldn't print being mad she instantly pointed at the cash register across the way and yelled "MOVE" . Neadless to say I killed her with kindness wishing she had a better day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The owners of Shamrock also own the Best Western Premier in Medicine Hat. The owner and manager of this hotel promise to use the bottle money for pizza days/lunches for the housekeeping staff but do no such thing (these girls are pushed to the limit, disrespected and underpaid). The owner of Shamrock keeps these bottles for himself to fill his own pockets. Stop supporting these greedy despicables.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am a volunteer with the Southern Alberta Humane Society and Shamrock Bottle Depot always goes above and beyond for us. They are courteous and quick when we need to speak with them, they allow us to hold an account for bottle deposit donations at their business, and recently they included us as the "Charity Of The Month" for 2 months in a row, allowing us to bring in some much needed funds for our rescued animals in the Medicine Hat, Redcliff and Cypress County areas. These funds were a huge gift to us and we are very grateful. They are always a pleasure to deal with and we feel they do a great job of giving back to their community.
