★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great patio seating with views of the dock, but calamari was spoiled. It was very fishy tasting which signifies unfresh seafood. The battered fish (cod, salmon and halibut) were good however. Fries were decent, just those standard frozen ones. Servers were friendly. We waited about 20 minutes for a table on a busy Saturday afternoon.
It seems that there's two restaurants here - one for seafood and one for Thai food. You'll be given the menu for both once seated.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Shady Island Seafood Bar & Grill has exceptional service and a variety of delicious meals for everyone to enjoy. I came to this restaurant on Friday with some of my friends and they did not disappoint us! Tried a Thai iced tea that was very refreshing and shared the classic fried seafood platter. Our waitress was also very kind and welcoming. Definitely will be coming back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had lunch here on Monday and it was excellent from start to finish. From the greeting to our waitress to our fabulous meal. Had the Halibut and chips and my girlfriend had the lunch special fish tacos. Both were excellent. Portions where perfect and everything was fresh made. Great beer and wine selection. Will be back for sure.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was our 2nd time here. 1st time was at the height of Covid so we wanted to try it again during "normal" times to see if it still met expectations.
Expectations met!!
The food was amazing and the service was incredible. When we asked for a table we were told it may be 45 minutes to an hour wait for food once seated but it was the reason for stopping in so of course we said ok.
It was less than half an hour and it definitely didn't disappoint.
Now that we live in BC we will be back more often than ever 2 years.

there is so many great looking meals in the menu so i couldn't choose by myself...
i let our server to surprise me and she didn't get wrong ?
i have got a wonderful chicken homemade style yammmmi and the perfect desert ?.
the service was fantastic and the atmosphere so quite and romantic. just excellent dinner.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved my time at Shady Island during our recent trip to Vancouver. Our server sat us by the window and we had a nice view of the pier. Food was delicious, from the half dozen Pacific Jewel oysters, Salmon fish and chips, to the surprisingly yummy Pad Thai (didn't think we would find a solid Pad Thai out in Steveston but there it was). Would highly recommend as a lunch stop on a day out to Steveston Village!
