Definitely some nice workers there. I think all the bad reviews were from the beginning of Covid when everyone was panicking because of having trouble with Service Canada online. Anyway, very helpful agents.

I feel that I was discriminated by the Service Canada Centre at Rivergrove. My friend who was born in Winnipeg and I came to this center in October 2018. Her application was accepted. She received her passport within 2 weeks. I however am not Canadian born . I was told by 2 service members that I needed to go to the main passport office at 433 Main St in Winnipeg to show my Canadian citizenship.I felt that this was strange and discriminatory. The location at 433 Main St is located downtown in the business area of the city of Winnipeg. Parking is bad in this area and expensive. I was told by the service agent at this office that it was unneccassy to show my citizenship card. Service Canada at Rivergrove should have renewed my passport by accepting my application without seeing my citizenship card. I am not happy with this service center at the Rivergrove location. They gave me poor service and discriminated against me; now my passport pictures are expired. I hope that they see this message because I am hurt by their actions.

The whole Service Canada- employment insurance service is a complete joke. The customer service agents know absolutely NOTHING and will ruin your application every time plus earn you a hefty over payment. They are not trained or educated at all and only give out BAD advice. DO NOT trust them. They DO NOT care about you or want to help you. I had called to find out how students go to school and collect EI. I told the dude straight forward that I wanted to focus on my school work and not work at the same time because I have disabilities. I told him I did not want to quit my job and take this course if the EI support couldn't be there. He told me students do it all the time and that I just had to upload my ROE and let them know about my course on my application. Most WRONG information, apparently, so we move on to my next question. I asked how do student's take multi year courses? Do I need to work a new 420/450 hours to get a new 12-month claim? He said no, I just apply, and because I already did the first year, EI just gives me a second year of benefits. EXTRAORDINARILY WRONG. so I quit my job start my classes and 4 months without income, 17 call center reps and 2 higher ups later my claim is denied denied denied because I'm not willing to work well going to school. K fine, find child care and re-apply. Oh, guess what? Denied because I voluntarily left my job... not only can I not apply for EI but because I resigned on my own (after being told that's what I needed to do) I am unable to use any of the hours worked in the last 3 years at my job and now need to work a brand new allotted hours. I could have taken a leave of absence. Thank you customer service representative, for royally effing up my hard work and future plans. I'm just going to keep re-applying until y'all get sick of me.

? Why are higher ups getting raises and they don’t even have enough employees to do their job? Wait was over 3 hours in line . And this happens every single time I need to go. Service Canada It’s a joke , over the phone or in person honestly such an awful system they have in place .

Pretty decent experince all things considered. Got there just before 08:30 when they open. Ended up #6 in the walk-in line. The people with appointments of course went in first so I was waiting outside for 2 hours and maybe 10-15 people were helped before me. Get there well before opening for walk in to be one of the first in. Probably like 08:00 if you plan to be able to do a half day at work. Would love it if they had Saturday hours.
