While there was a ton of information to read, I expected more of a tour instead of all individual reading. The intro video was also very old and hard to understand through the poor quality. Still 100% recommend, I just wished we could see more of the old school grounds and have a tour guide

Building is beautifully made. I was there for Chrome in the Grass. A hot rod and classic car show. Kinda like Hot Night in the City. Coming up this weekend as always the first weekend in August. This year it is 25 years old. So if you love cars there will be 6 blocks of them on Victoria street in KAMLOOPS.

a great place to visit and to learn about the Secwepemc people. I especially like the pit houses outside. there is a lot of information about plants, animals, traditions, culture... and so much more. the guides are passionate about the content and open to all questions. I have been a few times now and each time I take away something new. each guide has different stories so it is never the same tour which is wonderful. Check out the website to book a tour or to find out when the museum is open. there is a lot of history here and it is a good idea to check it out.

This museum is definitely worth the visit and the time to take in all that it has to offer. There is lots of information to read on the history of the people and the residential school. I could have used more information on some of the artifacts in the main museum, as well as some parts of the outdoor village. Heads-up to travellers: I was surprised to find out when I arrived that they do not accept Visa as payment.

As a local resident, I can't believe this was my first time here! Neat self-led museum with lots of information, displays and local history. I took my two sons, aged 1 and 3, and had no problems navigating the museum with a full size stroller. I would definitely come again as there is so mich fine print to take in about Secwepemc history and culture. One trip just isn't enough!!

The residential school placed on the edge of what used to be their winter village is one example is the horrendous injustice these original people faced, and are still healing from. I highly recommend visiting. We all need to be educated in this history.

Second day of Kamloopa pow-wow! Totally awesome, as usual. Well-run with organized parking, security, first aid, golf cart shuttles from parking to the arbor, concession food areas, and a variety of great vendors. The noon grand entry was huge, with the entire arbor filled by eye-dazzling dancers of all ages. Seeing the tiny tots take the grass to dance their hearts out gives one hope for the future. The drumming galvanizes anyone with a heartbeat :) A summer essential!
