★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband and I discovered Sea Chest last Sunday while visiting East Sooke Regional Park at Aylard Farm. What a cute little cafe with the most deliciously creative ice cream sandwiches. The flavours are so unique, it was difficult to choose which one to enjoy. I had the coconut caramel and it was so yummy. If you're in the area, stop by Sea Chest for a seaside treat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sometimes going out of your way for something random pays off. This place toes the line of being a gem that I don't really want to share because of the vibe of the area.
If you're in the area definetly stop by, the ice cream sandwiches are decadent and really tasty. The coffee is pretty stellar too, it's clear that she really cares about what she's doing.
Make sure to go early because the strawberry rhubarb was sold out when I got there and it sounded divine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sea Chest is one of those spots where my wife and I say, "Oh, darn, we have to go past Sea Chest to get there!" Doesn't matter that the place we're going is 2 km off the main road and there is no other place we could possibly be going (Aylard Farm at Becher Bay): there is a sense that one is deliberately detouring along a route that goes past Sea Chest. The place is only open seasonally -- although Mouette, who runs everything single-handed, stretched it to the end of October this year -- but when it's open, prepare for an experience! Mouette specializes in ice cream sandwiches, and comes up with these amazing flavour combinations both for her ice creams and her crusts. Try her rum & raisin, or something on a dacquoise cookie. Turn off East Sooke Road (east of the General Store) onto Becher Bay Road. And oh, yes: Aylard Farm (East Sooke Regional Park) is kinda wonderful, too!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I adore this little place and visit almost every weekend since discovering it by accident. It is well worth the drive. Mouette makes the best mocha on the island and the ice cream sandwiches are elegant and masterfully crafted. This is the summer highlight of living in Metchosin. Don’t hesitate to check it out

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ SO good!! Hidden gem in East Sooke that will leave you craving more! A unique selection of ice cream sandwich flavours, plus a good variety of hot and cold drinks. Very cute and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend the adventure box so you can try many flavours! Will definitely be returning many many times

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Their ice cream sandwiches are sooo good! Every flavour sounds delicious and it's very difficult to pick one. Tried 2: Irish coffee, and Eggnog with pumpkin. Both were excellent but Irish coffee really stood out for me. They are open weekends only until end of October. Go before they close for the season!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ These ice cream sandwiches are to die for!!!! My husband and I loved them so much we had them for our dessert (instead of cake) at our wedding! Mouette was an absolute gem to work with - she was so sweet to us, even gave us a couple free ice cream bars when we arrived to pick up our order day before our wedding :) The ice cream sandwiches were a huge hit with everyone - our guests LOVED them! Our venue cut the sandwiches into smaller pieces so everyone could taste multiple flavours. It worked out perfectly. Thank you so much, Mouette, for helping make our day special and uniquely us <3

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ These are the BEST ice cream sandwiches I have EVER had! I am not even from the island but I’ve now made it my mission to come down to Sooke every summer just so I can get these. We got Salted Caramel with Chocolate and a Lavender flavour. Both were delicious! Honestly, I’m sure any flavour is good because the quality of the ice cream is just SOOO yummy. Can’t wait to have these again very soon!
