As a dual citizen i am limited in my options for firms who can handle both U.S. and Canadian returns and file them accurately. I approached SDG and they have a U.S. Tax lawyer on the team who works closely with their CDN office to ensure that foreign tax credits are being claimed properly. I am glad i found this firm as I will be looking forward to working with them years to come!!!!

You over charge and don't deliver proper service, thus resulting in the rating given. Had our 2019 taxes filed by another company that did a much better job for a fraction of what you charged.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don't ever feel inclined to write a negative review but I do want to be transparent about my experience when it's beyond humanly understandable.
I was seeking a different accounting firm as my portfolio was growing larger and figured a "big corporate company" would be able to handle my business. I had scheduled an appointment online and under 20 minutes later, I had cancelled because I had to fly out of city and was unsure when I'd return.
I had emailed SDG Accountant regarding a refund and team member Emily offered a reschedule because they do not offer refunds; there was no prompt indicating a non-refundable charge of $250! $250!!!!! It's absolutely abusrd! Especially since I fly in and out of the city so often and honestly at that price tag, you'd think there'd be more flexibility.
I had kept politely reaching out after not hearing back regarding the refund and they have refused to return any of my emails. Fast forward 2 months later to YESTERDAY, SDG Accountant reached out to me via phone and asked if I wanted to continue keeping my account with them.
Perhaps rather than spending so much time doing courtesy calls to keep your business, maybe try handling matters a bit more professionally so your clients actually want to stay.
