★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our mortgage was up for renewal in 2015 at our bank, we looked for rates around and the mortgage person from Scotia bank said she could get us all these great deals and rates for it. They were slow to get back to us, and when it came down to crunch time she said we couldn't have the rates she had offered as they were "new" mortgages only. Then she offered us another rate, but that fell threw also, and so we were given another few option. So when we decided to go back to our bank original bank after getting the run around from her and all these false promises, we got a good rate that was better than what we were being offered, but the story does not end here. She then called and was rude saying how we were just using her to get a better rate at our bank and how we had been wasting her time, when in fact she had been wasting our time with all these false leads in offerings. If your looking for a rate on a mortgage, I suggest you shop around, and be careful if they change what was being offered originally to get your to start doing all your paper work etc. and when we are renewing our mortgage in 2 years again, we wont be going back to this bank.

They're quick to let us know if there's anything that needs our attention (like calling to let us know someone had found our daughter's debit card) and have gone above and beyond with financial advice and help in setting up our business. Can't say enough about how much we appreciate their conscientious approach to doing business and at the same time personable and friendly. Thank you Scotiabank staff!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very unprofessional and allowed my dads estate to be used by the POA for their benefit when it clearly was not for his benefit! Not trustworthy! Clearly in a conflict of interest several times. Several complaints made to higher ups with with no response. More than $130,000 stolen and didn't flag it as a problem. Do not trust this institution with your money!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you have any issues with your account, they can't fix it. You have to call their customer service, who take ages to answer and aren't very helpful. I got locked out of my account randomly so I called in and they made me change my password for no reason and now my account hardly works, I can't use the card online (despite being able to days before calling in) and they somehow managed to change my birth date to a completely different one.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a booked appointment with advisor. Showed up and their systems were down. Understandable, it happens. We left our names and number to have someone call us to reschedule as we didn't want to miss out on a limited time offer. No return call. Called in this morning and was told by a machine that the wait time was greater than 45 minutes. Not very good service.....
