it is unbelievably difficult to reach a real person at this branch! i've been trying for 2 days. get kicked over to national call centre and who wants to deal with people who have no idea about your accounts, etc. disgusting!!

Waited in line twice to exchange Canadian cash for krona. Was asked for ID just to exchange money under 1000$. Is this normal practice? And the tone was not friendly. Also the exchange rate is 90$ more expensive than another bank that I just checked 5 min before

Cannot call the branch directly and get put through to call centre with minimum 20 minute wait time. Ridiculous.

Fantastic quick services, so friendly staff and I completed the survey, staff member( Brenda) talked and asked for any other help or concern was amazing. On my last visit, staff made sure that all my queries were resolved.

In 2013 I came into this branch to open an account, at the time I was a recovering alcoholic trying to start a new life. I understand their concern in opening me an account back then, and don't judge them for the way I was treated At that time. However, I'm now a recovered alcoholic, who is a local business owner. Each time I have gone into this location I feel the staff profiles me as who I was almost 10 years ago. Every cheque held, every service questioned, the looks I get from the tellers, it's all as if I'm less than human and shouldn't be standing in front of them. I could go on and on about my individual experiences but I'll just list a few, I've had my ATM card tossed at me, I've had a certified cheque held for 10 days even with the person who issued it to me standing right beside me, I've had services refused and been embarrassed numerous times all while simply trying to do my banking. I actually had to close my account at this location as it became too much for me to handle mentally. I opened an account in Wasaga Beach and the tellers and staff there have been excellent. Cashing large cheques are no issue at all. I've made numerous complaints but the person responsible for dealing with complaints is the branch manager, and well she is complicit in all of it and has displayed the same behavior numerous times towards me herself in the past. My suggestion, go to Wasaga Beach, so much better service, much friendlier staff and they won't profile you...

Waited on hold for over 20 min to try to make an appointment with someone at this branch (though I have seen similar issues at other branches). Their voice mail said to press 0 to make an appointment. This sent me to a call centre, which could not find the Collingwood Branch for several long minutes. They had never heard of the town! Why can't we just speak to a human who lives here? This re-routing to remote call centres with long waits is truly horrible service Scotiabank. Don't press 0 folks. Leave a message, keep calling.
