We applied for a high limit credit card and it took over a month to process and we had very little customer support from management after the branch put us with a junior staff member that had difficulty processing our application. We did get some compensation from this staff member but after complaining to a more senior staff member we were told that we would receive a call from the manager but it never did come!! We did not receive any apologies at any time for finally taking over five weeks to get a credit card!!! I would not recommend this branch.

Great bank! Hopefully it doesn't go bankrupt anytime soon!

I wish I could give less than 1 star. Now I know why you rated low on google. I have been a client with Scotiabank since 2006 and I do all my banking through them. Yesterday, I was checking my online banking and I was advised that the accounts are closed. They said that they send a notice out but I have not received it. I went to the branch to understand what was going on and why they closed my bank accounts and all I get is "Here is the notice we sent out and I will let you read it". I always treat everyone at the branch with respect and I know most of them personally. Well, I had no choice but to get going and go somewhere else because I have set up lots of online banking payments. I talked to the customer service and they said "At least you have got a notice" many of other bank account holders do not. "WOW". I felt that the decision was made on discrimination bases. Coming from a third world country does not mean we are following fraudulent behavior. When you call the "president office", first thing they tell you: "in the agreement you have signed 15 years ago, there was a clause saying that the bank can close your bank accounts with no reasons". I will definitely follow up on this. I will never recommend this bank to anyone. Stay away from this bank.

I've been with Scotia for over 30 years. Profits are up and local support is down. I see a lot of poor reviews, and for good reason. They have my money and I expect better. I don't want to wait on hold for over 20 minutes to talk to somebody in Toronto and ask them something that only the local branch can answer. If this was any other business relationship they'd never see me again. Too bad too because the local staff are pretty good. It's the corporate policies I have an issue with.

I want to add my son to my account. By the time I navigate all the options when I phone, which don't include the option I need, I have a plus 30 minute wait time. I thought on-line and telephone backing were suppose to be the "in thing". Face to face is my only option with Scotiabank. Disappointing to say the least!!!!!

Officially changing banks after years of loyalty. This branch is the WORST. The staff are so unhelpful, they do not care about their customers.

The security guard out front was very kind and efficient. The lady behind the counter helping me was very nice and explained everything in detail so I could understand and knew everything she was doing. Very quick and patient.

Scotiabank in my opinion is the worst financial institution I’ve ever had experience with. I switched from a credit union moving multiple mortgages, personal account, credit cards, business account etc. because I thought this would be a good experience and as a big bank they would be better committed to customer service. Completely the opposite experience from my expectations. This particular branch, and I have not dealt with others, is terrible. No one really seems to care about the banking issues and they treat their business customers no different than anyone walking off the street. Anyone that has multiple lines of credit, business accounts, mortgages with a single institution knows how daunting the task is to switch to another bank. I don’t have time for a holiday never mind spending the time to change. Now I’m stuck and regret the move from my credit union
