Very disappointing experience with this branch and the management. I was here the other day and had meeting with one of the advisors, he explained me the package and said I need to pieces of ID to open an account in the branch or I can do it online. Today, I had to give an account number to my employer, so I tried online and I received an error and I had to go to branch! I went and the manager was working in the front, she told me she would need to see my proof of address in addition to the 2 pieces of ID, I didn't not have it and she said if you go online you can get your account opened and get the account number but in branch you need your documents!!! Howcome someone can do it online but not in the branch? Ok, let's say that it's the policy of the bank. Why the advisor the other day did not tell me anything about the proof of address that I must have it when opening an account? Let's say it's was the advisor fault, what does this have to do with the manager? I explained everything but she couldn't offer me anything like opening an account but hold it frozen till I come back with proof of address, she didn't even ask when was my appointment and who was that advisor to correct him. No management skills. Really disappointing!!

My complain is about the ABM hours. The fact these are closed during the weekends and after ~ 5pm defeats the purpose of an ABM.

I had not used my account in a very long time, prety much since i opened it. My father passed away last year, and one of the investment companies him and i had a joint account with were refusing his death certificate because it was in spanish. Even tho global affaires canada said its still a legal document, and should be accepted.. So for over a year i've been jumping threw hoops with them. I needed a direct deposit form. i tried calling the local branch because i wasnt feeling well (sore throat). I was hoping to send my partner in with my ids, and card with me on the phone. But calling the number to the local branch online only takes you to their national support, which is pretty frustrating. The person at national gave me some extension numbers which i tried and didnt work. It took about 3 or 4 phone calls before i was transferred to the local branch. I also gave my banking information over the phone, so it would of been really cool if someone had mentioned then that my account had been closed..So they had to transfer me directly. Nobody answered so i left a message. I was pretty frustrated at this point, i didnt swear but i know u could hear i was agitated when i left my message. Which i felt extremely guilty and ashamed of, i know customer service isnt an easy job. My partner convinced me to go in because i really needed to get to the bottom of this. i whole heartedly regret that because they were closing soon, and i feel like its rude to go in anywhere half hour before closing. Like i said, i did have a sore throat. I wore my mask and everything but the gentleman came out and asked if it was me who left the message. I said yes and apologized and offered to leave, 3 times.. But he said it was okay, but went on to tell me how it wasnt. ( ive been tested i dont have covid). Then he told me my account had been closed due to inactivity. I asked if i could open a new account and he said no, they were closing soon and i should go back to my previous bank and bank with them instead. I'am truly very sorry for leaving an aggravated message. I'm very ashamed of myself for that. It was just frustration from everything. Altho Scotia's telephone banking / support does suck lol. But it would of been nice if i was told over the phone the account had been closed, recieved a call back, or pulled to the side instead of embarrassed infront of the entire bank when i was apologizing and offering to leave, just to be told its okay shamed, and essentially kicked out.. i tried to take proper precautions because i was experiencing a sore throat, but i've been tested and i do not have covid. im sorry for my part. I would of preferred to reaching out and talking to the person individually and clearing it all up with them. but like i said the local number only goes to national support, and i dont have the dude's extension number soo yeah. Ok i'm done, my apologies and have a good day to who ever is reading this.

I dont live very far from this branch so I usually walk to make a deposit. Everytime I get there around 1 or 2 pm the doors are always locked. I check the hours quite frequently to see if it's open. It always says, closes at 5 pm. No matter what, the doors are locked!! I've even tried calling ti make sure they are open, no one ever answers. Turns out to just be a big waste of time with this location.

On more than one occasion I have tried to make an abm deposit and it failed. First time I was able to recover the money with ease and was impressed with their services. Second time around I was transferred to over 5 different departments and received no help. It’s like no one knew how to do the one job they had!!! Overall very disappointed with my experience and thinking of leaving the bank. Any alternative ideas?

Scotia bank overall has been TERRIBLE for my small business. They are disgustingly rude, they reschedule their appointments or not show up. They have been the worst bank that I have dealt with my entire life. One of the manager wasn't letting me speak about my concerns, he laughed when I said let me finish speaking, wouldnt not not let me deposit a CITY OF EDMONTON CHEQUE and won't let bank deposits go through. They've kept funds from multiple cancelled e-transfers for almost a week and was unable to access my funds. As a business owner Ive never been so appalled by the service of this Brand and overall Scotia bank institution.

I keep getting mixed info. I just need to use the atm. I work till 5. I just need to put money in the bank and the hours are terrible. Have the first doors unlocked for use of the atm. I’ve now tried 3 times.

I'm not really sure where else to go with this review. But I had an absolutely horrendous experience working with scotiabank. I called requesting a legal document for a very time sensitive issue that I made aware from the beginning. I had to call 6 separate times because it was not provided to me within the time frame given. It was finally explained to me on the sixth call that there was an error with my mailing address and that's why it wasn't released to me. I made them aware everytime I called and waited on hold for over an hour that I urgently needed this document as soon as they could, and understood it could not be rushed. The lack of diligence in this and time and stress that I had was not okay. The last individual I spoke to was very harsh with me. Terrible experience, enough to never recommend scotiabank to anyone.
