★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is a Montrèal institution. The smoked meat taste very unique to this store and you can't get it anywhere else. There usually in a line waiting to get seated. I would go alone and get the counter seat or if the line is long, I just buy the meat to go. Unlike the novice tourist who goes the and order the combo, I only order the smoked meat without even the bread. That's the best thing they sell here. I will get a large portion of the cut smoke meat, medium fat, and that's it. The best.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best deli in Montreal. Eating here is a must any time I'm in Montreal. The Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich is their staple and go to. It's delicious. Recommend getting cole slaw on the side. The staff are very friendly. Be prepared to wait a bit as it is very busy but worth the wait.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is iconic, legendary, incredible. But all the fluff aside this is the best smoke meat sandwich you'll ever have. It's not like a pastrami sandwich you're going to get in the US. Get some pickles, slaw and peppers on the side. And there's something about that Cherry cola that just goes perfect with it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went a few minutes before it’s opening hours to avoid the line (as there always seem to be a line). Not a big meat eater, but I love anything that is smoked, so I know I gotta try this ultra hyped up place! Was it worth the hype?! I believe so, especially if you are a meat and sandwich eater. In the beginning I thought I won’t be able to handle it because there’s plenty of meat, but it was so pleasant and tender and not overwhelming at all that I finished it all. Load of on mustard and order medium on fat content- the best way to eat it in my opinion!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered the combo for 5, what a treat. The whole family loved it! We also ordered a smoked meat poutine and it was amazing.
The meat, the sauce, the pickles, the bread and the coleslaw are all made in house. Highly recommend trying this place out as it’s a staple in the deli scene here in Montreal. Well worth the wait and the price. Great job Schwartz deli!! Two thumbs way up.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I got the lean smoked meat sandwich, the pickle and coleslaw. The sandwich tasted as expected - very good etc etc. What stunned me was the coleslaw - it was amazing! It was very sour and without the usual nasty dressing coleslaw normally comes drenched in. I wish I wasn’t traveling and couldn’t have taken a few home. I highly recommend!

We loved that place and it was nice experience .
But if i go there next time, i will just buy meat and cook my own dish.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a mandatory culinary experience when you're in Montreal. The meat is marinated for 10 days before being smoked for 12 hours and steamed for 4 hours. The result is the juiciest smoked meat sandwich. I highly recommend the rye bread and pickle to go with it.
This restaurant specifically is the North Star of smoked meat. It doesn't look like much when you walk in, but when you eat the sandwich you can taste the tradition and history.
The staff are really friendly and funny. Please stop by here if you have time in Montreal.
