School District No 36 (Surrey)

Very poor service, the person on the phone doesn't listen to what you say and her voice becomes louder and louder. Even if I say it kindly, she talks back rudely! .

I express my great appreciation having just enjoyed the Chantrel Creek choir concert. The teacher/leader had those fifty grade two and three pupils singing their hearts out....complete with choreography! They performed simple "old" songs that the residents here at Whitecliff Retirement Residence recognized and enjoyed. Their gift to us at the end, a stem of carnations, are a surprise pleasure.

Since 2004 I have made numerous attempts in writing and phone calls to staff at the superintendents office (district 36) and with numerous principals at Elgin Park Secondary to have my graduating son added to the composite of graduating students in the year of 2003. When we first noticed he was omitted our 2nd son was attending Elgin Park Sec in 2010. We were told Artona Studios has gone out of business and that it would be corrected. The graduating class of 2003 board was taken down for over 3 years. I assumed it was been dealt with. As a parent we do not enter the school and walk in the hallways. I was shocked when I made a library donation in the year of 2017 this was not done. Once again I wrote a letter to the School Board district 36. Recently it was my sons birthday and I also became a grandmother prompting me to revisit this. The error was made by the studio...to date I have been stonewalled by everyone at the high school, and the school board. J Popil graduated in 2003 and there is a picture that todays technology can correct this error...or at the very least add his name as a graduating student. There are still teachers at this school that can verify this as well as school records. No one even returns phone calls...Lisa O`Malley has taken the silence approach. How would any parent feel or student? It has been almost 20 years and still waiting....HELP! Dr. B. Popil-Vadas

If you are looking for a good district to work for as a teacher they kind of do it best. In the schools I worked they always had a good amount of resources available and admin is very reachable too.

So many things are mediocre in SD36. A small handful of support staff and teachers are excellent but they are fighting a hard fight. If your kid is neuro divergent do not expect to get the support your child needs. You will have to fight to get your child anything. Good luck.
