We have relied on the ecomm (online ordering) team at Save On in Port Hardy for almost all of our groceries since May 2020. THEY ARE AMAZING! We rarely have substitutions, but when we do, they're great! It's really cool to learn about new products this way.
Prices aren't the most important thing to us (we're happy with whatever we can get at whatever price), but Save On's pricing is consistently lower than any other North Island grocer. The freshness of produce, dairy, and meat is unbeatable! When we've shopped at other North Island groceries, we're lucky if the produce and dairy lasts one week.
We travel 1.5 hours past two other grocery stores on our way to Save On, but it is absolutely worth the time. They're the best!

She offered to cook our turkey breast and it was done to perfection. Our entire Thanksgiving dinner was excellent. Pretty expensive but then again it's the only thing up here so they charge what they want. Theres always a staff shortage so the deli is always out of everything ie. Deli salads , sandwich stuff etc.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great selection for north island and there prices same as other saveonfoods. Have a phone by the door to call taxis if your doing a boat order its handy. They also have boxes available for boat orders makes it simple. Good staff that are friendly. Older store with some modern up grades. Attached to the mall and close to everything in town. Lots of parking.
