Satisfied with the facilities. Parking is an issue if you're staying for treatments. Great staff but it can be hard to move booked appointments.

You don't want to have to go here. But if you do end up here, make sure you advocate for your health, or the health of your loved one. They will do their best, but it will take a lot of work on your part as well to make sure nothing is being missed. Do some research. Find out about the cancer you are dealing with. It will help a lot.

Front reception often does not acknowledge you upon check-in. All it takes is a simple "i'll be right with you" . Some of the nurses in chemo department are very patronizing and not empathetic at all. As if cancer patients are not in enough of an emotional turmoil as it is. My oncologist is great. Phlebologists also great.

I am really not impressed with the Saskatoon Cancer Centre. In dealing extensively with RUH I have not found any problems booking appointments and have found receptionists generously working with my busy schedule. The Cancer Centre is an entirely different experience. I feel that it is due to the employee's "one system fits all" attitude towards all patients. We do not have a cancer diagnosis but this has not been acknowledged by anyone, including reception, (insisting we take the all year parking pass, understand how this will affect our income tax), social workers giving us binders of information that does not pertain to us and nurses expecting us to take the one date and time appointment option (that we are out of the country for) because it is most convenient for them. I feel that everyone I have dealt with so far at the Cancer Centre is institutionalized to funnel us all into the same mould. Not respectful.

Your staff really needs to get their damn stuff together. My mother was waiting for half an hour for her appointment and no one came to see her. Then when I said that we were leaving because no one came to see her, the receptionist said she was booked into a room already. She started laughing when I told her we were leaving. There is no communication and I feel like some of the women working at your facility are not professional at all. Edit: be sure to ask about a parking pass for frequent appointments to the cancer clinic if you are going through therapy, because my mother also paid for frequent parking for months when it could have been free.

I don't understand the poor reviews--this place is amazing. It feels comfortable and familiar when you're there often. My doctor and nurses were so good. Sometimes wait times can be long but that's true of anywhere.

I've held off on posting this review to make sure it wasn't just my emotions getting in the way. But when a nurse hooks my grandmothers chemotherapy up wrong and it's leaking all over my house and grandmother - that's not my emotions, that's someone doing their job wrong in a position where there should NOT be room for error as such. If there is one good thing to say about this situation and the nurse doing her job wrong, is that maybe because it did leak out instead of into her - I was able to get home in time to say good bye.

I have a chronic lymphoma and have been getting treatment through the cancer centre since 2008. The staff is courteous, professional, and friendly. The facilities are always clean and in good repair. When I've needed to be seen on short notice, I've been accommodated.
