Active and deferred SHEPP members are reminded that changes to the Plan will take effect on January 1, 2022, regarding the option to elect a commuted value transfer of your pension.
If you do not exercise your option to transfer the commuted value of your pension out of the Plan by December 31, 2021, and you are age 55 or older on that date, you will no longer have the option to transfer that commuted value from SHEPP. Rather, your only option will be to receive your SHEPP entitlement as a lifetime monthly pension.
