I've been trying to get an insurance with them for 6 months now, and they're still not close to being done. I had a blood test pending to see if all my vaccinations are up to date, but Blue Cross would not offer me an insurance plan until I got my test done. Now that I have my test complete, Blue Cross is asking me to pay my doctor to send Blue Cross the results of my vaccination report (which came out clean; also vaccinations are covered by Health Canada so idk why they're adamant on it). Expecting me to pay my doctor to send them the report of my vaccinations; on top of dragging my application for 6 months and making me call a million times and not responding to my application is not acceptable. My health history has been clean and I'm a 26 y/o fit male who takes care of his health, and yet I am being harassed and not serviced. Blue cross hasn't even told me the plan I'll be getting and how much it'll cost, so why would I pay my doctor's office beforehand? I thought health insurance applications were free?

Overall its a decent insurance company. Only on a plan with them as my employer uses them for our insurance. Big downfall is that I live in Alberta as well as work in Alberta and majority of places here do not direct bill to Saskatchewan Blue Cross but will direct bill if its Manitoba Blue Cross which makes no sense to me. Frustrating to pay upfront and wait anywhere from a week to a few weeks to get reimbursed, depending on how busy they are with claims.

Not professional. Last week we went downtown SASKATOON office, it was closed due to covid19. Each and every thing were reopening - off course maintaining rules. But there scenario questionable ! Anyway my problem with them solved over phone and I got paid. Takes double time; but happy and good wish for them

I have coverage through my employer. My wife got prescribed a costly med. Out of nowhere they refused to cover it and all other meds until we try to get the government to cover it. Some fore warning would have been nice, now I'm out over $600 and still paying my dues to them just before x-mas. I do not recomende that kind of service to anyone. Thanks alot.

As a cancer fighter and survivor my experience after my chemo therapy has not been well. Your team members need better understanding of the after effects chemo therapy patients will experience. Currently in a RTW program that I was told was flexible. They lied and have made my return to work miserable. It seems my employer asking for a slower pace on my behalf was not enough. Next my family dr note was and issue so I then go see my Oncologist for recommendations. Bloodwork ext pending for further diagnosisinto my exhaustion but we all seem to agree it's the long term effects of chemo therapy. All I asked was a extension of reduced hours for a few weeks. Got a certified note from my oncologist that it's his recommendations I resume reduced hours and wait on pending medical results and to have a reassessment when results come back. After arguing with my case manager my reduced hours have been accepted but I now will no longer qualify for disability benefits to offset the hours I am not working as of June regardless I am full time or not by then. I have an Oncologist, a occupational therapist and my employer all agreeing to resume slower hours because of the physical and mental exhaustion but that is not enough. Because my family dr originally signed my RTW program my oncologist has no say in the matter and my benefits will be suspended. Again all I asked for was a reduction of hours for a few weeks so I can physically and mentally catch up to 2 years of not working.

Very disappointing customer experience. I've been paying into Blue Cross for years. I submitted a claim with several receipts for services that are covered (chiro and massage) and was only reimbursed for some of it. They are now making me jump through hoops to get my reimbursement. I can only assume it's in hopes of making it so difficult to collect that I give up and they get to keep my money. I spoke with a manager to tell them I was disappointed with their customer services and she was incredibly unhelpful and really sounded like she was annoyed more than anything. Not at all looking to resolve the issue. just spewing out her pre scripted excuses which at the end of it all don't make sense as her reasoning would mean I got all or nothing but they reimburse me for half of the claim. anyways. I'd recommend trying another company and save yourself the headache of dealing with these guys.
