Honestly can't stress enough how much this place has helped me in such a short amount of time. The compassion and life tips and resources and finding healing that works for my specific learning patterns and avoiding cookie cutter counseling that doesn't work. I've gone through so many free counseling that has gotten me nowhere and left me frustrated with mental health care in Manitoba. Sara Riel actually listens

Intake process took months! I can understand things are slower due to Covid but the social worker dragged things out longer than necessary. One star for material in modules seeming useful. Too bad getting them is a frustrating process. Ie no social workers available too help disseminate the info. The Social worker I did have was horrible. He consistently was not paying attention, talked over me and even tried to make me feel bad for wanting help (lectured me when I tried to book a regular time and for when I reached out after he cancels due to family emergencies)

They won’t let you change counsellors if it’s not a good fit. I found their programs to be more disruptive to my life than helpful - and it’s not because I’m not willing to work on those things, it’s because I’ve had people whose styles didn’t work with mine and felt obligated to continue seeing them until I got into another one of their programs. Any program that won’t let clients change counsellors if their clients don’t feel it’s a good fit is probably A) overly concerned about people wanting to switch all the time B) doesn’t actually pay attention to their clients needs. Another example of B is that their support survey being given to the client by the person whose support they're evaluating. If you want an honest answer out of someone about whether or not what you’re doing is helpful you can’t have that person give the survey. Chances are the responder will not be 100% honest. It’s building a bias into the system which makes it meaningless.

Sara Riel has helped me begin my journey to.mental wellness. Not going to lie, it takes time and effort on your part along with the willingness and courage to begin. The counsellors are amazing, working with you and giving you amazing tools you use on your journey. My.counsellor checks in on me often, we have individual meetings and phone sessions as well as workshops you. Can opt into that all aid you. They cheer my.progress along side me and. Keep encouraging me. I HIGHLY recommend Sara Riel. Don't expect instant results, I would say I'm in the middle of my journey and it has taken about a year and a half so far. Looking forward to continuing my journey and putting in the effort to achieve all my goal. Thank you Sara Riel!!

I missed a zoom meeting because i was in hospital. Wrote my counselor a text as to the situation. She closed my file and sent an email. Didn't respond to my text or call me to let me know my file was closed, but i guess an email was the best way to not get the message to me , seeing as we never communicated by email once

Just as I would get connected to aa counselor, they would leave and I'd have to see someone else. The 3rd counselor I was assigned to made 4 separate appointments with me that she never showed up for. Never called, never emailed. Just didn't show up. I wrote an email about it and sent it to their office and nobody got back to me. Horrible experience. No accountability and don't care.
