I could not have asked for a better way to develop my selling skills than working with Hamish. He really is a true leader and expert in the Sandler method and much more. We connected through Futurpreneur, after being approved for a small business loan. As part of the loan program, I was assigned a local mentor who I could meet up with. At first, I was unsure about Sandler system's approach, finding it hard to relate the system to creative industries. But after a couple sessions, I realized that no matter what you are selling, the same ideas permeate every human interaction where a buyer or client is involved. I can now say that I am more comfortable than ever knowing which aspects of our selling system we need to work on, train and develop like any other skill we use to provide our services. I reached out to Hamish to engage in working with him and supporting Sandler in Calgary with my Social Media Marketing business, Gal Friday Marketing, however, I learned really quickly that trying to sell to a sales trainer is probably similar to climbing Everest. We began talking about my business and about how I might need his skills more than he needs mine. I was flabbergasted... and frankly incredibly impressed. Hamish is the genuine article. He's honest and conscientious and in no way the shady salesperson society has painted salespeople to be. In fact, he teaches salespeople to be the opposite. He taught me how to lean into who I am and the relationship I want to build with each prospect and place importance on fulfilling their needs, or not - in some cases, and then being able to move on. My sales style pre-Sandler had frequently gotten me off track. I was essentially biting off more than I could chew with prospects who would tell me they were interested in working with me, only to ghost leaving me wondering what happened. Hamish gave me clarity. He helped me pick the right clients and classify the current ones, as well as upsell to them, and eventually, grow my business in a sustainable way. Would I recommend Sandler? Yes, but do it with Hamish and his amazing crew - Nisha, Sandra and Carrie. They are all super supportive and not just about the course work but with life issues that come up with folks like me - entrepreneurs - and during crazy times like ALL OF 2020! I deeply appreciate all that Sandler and Hamish, in particular, have done for me personally and professionally!
