Sancta Maria House

I had to make a project about this it was soooo boring ?

Was at this house for 5 months. The house mothers and owner are not very kind. They are very judgemental and are very clouded by there own religious beliefs that they camnot focus on much else. I was referred and when I arrived I was judged immediately for nit having the same beliefs. Was told not to practice or have anything that would indicate that I believed in anything other then God. The owner had threatened me more then once to call my social worker to tell her I wasn't doing the program if I refused to do as she asked, for example if I didn't have the phone on speaker while talking to my lawyer or social worker then I was punished and threatened, when I refused to agree with the belief of homosexualls not being able to raise children, I was punished and threatened. They have favoritism and will make you feel left out and alone if you do not do everything to please them. They allow repeat of relapses and allow the person to return over and over. They do not have any training in emergency, for example I had to take care of another women having a seizure and direct the house mother what to do because they were not trained to take care if the matter. The limited my calls to my family and my children. One house mother(Marie) at the end if my stay had sat me down alone and told me that I was not to be making friends here, that this was not my home and would never be anything close to it and that she didn't think I belonged there at all. There recovery program is based upon the bible and going to church, you will rarely go to AA and are only allowed to do the AS STEPS that have been rewritten by the house to become more god centered. THIS PROGRAM HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH AA RECOVERY OR NA RECOVERY. THIS PROGRAM IS ABOUT YOU RECONNECTING WITH GOD. Bottom line - if you have a serious addiction this is not the place for you. You will not be helped. THERE RELAPSE RATE IS ASTONISHINGLY HIGH.

Sancta Maria House brought me close to God. It kept me sober. I got to meet incredible, beautiful people. I love the staff. It is like my home - I will always come back to visit Sancta Maria House.

Coming to Sancta Maria House was a life changing experience.I was at a point in my life where I was hopeless and a lost soul.Walking into SMH I automatically felt the peace and the warm welcomes.I am forever grateful for the divine intervention that brought me here.Sancta Maria offers so much support, encouragement and uncondional love. I am gratefully 12 yrs sober today and I owe it all to what I learned and received on my journey through SMH.If you are looking for a true healing and a new life I highly suggest giving Sancta Maria a try you have nothing to loose and a whole lot to gain.A new life is just a prayer away .

Sancta Maria House is a home, not an institution. All the staff are loving and caring people. The spiritual focus fits in perfectly with AA and the 12 Steps. I have been in 20 other recovery houses and I have found here what I couldn't find there. I was coming from a pretty bad situation. I felt hopeless and alone. At Sancta Maria House, I found empathy and a new hope. I have never felt as loved and accepted before. I feel part of a family and they will always be my family.
