★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been enjoying the lovely bath salts and tea that I bought at Sage and Tree Gallery. Heading back there today to get some more.
She has curated local First Nation artists, and I appreciate the mix of different styles of art and craft. I've been looking at the crystal necklaces through the window for a few days, so maybe I'll try one of those on today as well! ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of my favourite galleries to visit. There is a broad and vibrant variety of artwork and artisan hand made items, jewelry, clothing, tea, mugs, pillows, etc, etc at the gallery. So much to see and explore. The gallery owner is so nice to talk with, down to earth and has great energy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This shop and gallery features the beautiful work from dozens of Indigenous artists and makers from across the land, and is founded and operated by Theresa, a passionate and welcoming Cree artist. When we visited there was everything from jewelry to wall art to handmade mugs to tea and dolls. I really enjoyed seeing this display of traditional and contemporary techniques. I learned there were pieces made from beaver, rabbit, caribou, cedar, even lynx fur!!! All gathered using time honoured Indigenous traditions, of course. I purchased a gorgeous pair of rabbit fur and painted cedar earrings made by Shauna Fontaine, artist and owner of Anishinaabe Girl jewelry.
There is so much heart and soul packed into this space. A definite visit for anyone living in and visiting Courtenay!
