Hi it's me!!! on Google

Father Jim was still saying mass at the parish he didn't look down on the parishioners, as one of the current Priests does he introduced himself by telling the congregation a bit of his background life. Then went on about how many degrees he currently has at present almost boasting about it!!! I don’t believe he truly knows the culture & understands the ways of the Metis People... We don’t need a Priest standing in front of us and having his limelight of boasting for 30 minutes. It seemed more like he was trying to put people down and remind them of the residential past... That if you don’t have an education you are nothing!!! Then he said he can speak Cree! Big deal after that speech was that supposed to impress us with his degrees!!! He’s certainly not humble of a man and I am not sure that this Parish is a good fit, as he has big shoes to fill of a Man that was loved by all & accepted everyone... I’m still appalled by this especially coming from the new parish priest who replaced Our Father Jim...

Always feel welcome there. If you go for mass, there's an opportunity to celebrate your anniversary, whether for your marriage, or another positive life change, such as quitting smoking. They also celebrate birthdays and welcome newcomers. The acoustics are superior. Inside you can enjoy and admire the artwork throughout: from the rainbow in the archway, to the medicine wheel, to the snowshoes around the Easter/baptismal candle, to the stations of the cross. The floor inside is newly renovated, as are the washrooms (still small, but nicer than before) and side chapel. The wheelchair accessible entrance is around the south side. It may claim Edmonton's "last chance mass" now, with a mass around 7-ish on Sunday evenings. Better late than never! A very positive community!

As a brother Knight of Columbus today I left water on the steps for people to take and took these photo of the church.

I miss this beautiful church, full of great memories sad, many happy memories and one funny memory which happened when my late wife and Iwere just in the middle of reciting our marriage vows when there was a commotion in the crowd, well it was our two young sons who picked this historic day to settle their differences fisticuffs under the pews but that didn’t hinder our pledge to one another, Sept.22 1978 Sadly she was called home in 2013 I am anxious to see her again and our baby boy Brett but I have lots to do before then. I disagree with retirement, I say NowYour Real Job begins. I love it, better than being a Rig Manager. Love and Peace everyone!!!!

I was Baptized in this Church, I seen Priest come and go, and I have to say Father Jim Holland was one of my Favorite Priests, he was down to Earth, never treated anyone badly, or made people feel out of place. I introduced myself to the New priest with my Fiancé, who also attended Sacred Heart, in fact we met there, this Priest went off on his history, His education, told us he speaks cree, We were willing to give him a chance, we called the rectory a few times to put our names down for Volunteering, yet received NO calls, even heard him during Mass asking people to write their names down if they wish to volunteer. He made us feel like we weren't good enough to volunteer so we quit offering. Since Father Jim has gone, things have gone downhill for this Parish, just because you speak Cree doesn't mean you know the whole Metis Culture. I now attend other Churches except this one. I realize NO ONE can replace Father Jim, but why undo all that was done and was working well for this Parish, for the sake of the community, if people stop going...it really will parish.
