★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was in this store on Westmount today, and tried to purchase items that totalled over $90, however, the clerk was having difficulty with the debit machine. I stood there for over 5 minutes, while she tried a number of times, unsuccessfully, to put the sale through. The customer who was in front of me also had the same problem.
After numerous attempts, I volunteered to walk a block and a half away, on a cold, blustery day to get cash from my bank to pay for the purchase.
I returned about 5 to 7 minutes later with the cash. I paid for the items, and the total ended in a .93 centsl The clerk gave me back 10 cents. I placed the 10 cents in my pocket and at that time, the other clerk, who must have been in charge, told my clerk to only give me 5 cents back. When I tried to get the 10 cents back out of my coat pocket, it fell on the floor. It took a few seconds to find it and pick it up. I gave it to the clerk and she gave me 5 cents in return.
Now..............after offering to go all the way down the street to get the cash for a problem the store was having, and then having to be told, basically, they wanted their penny, I think that was a very, very poor business decision. I will make sure that anyone who I know who wants to buy something at the Sox Box On Greene, will know how petty the clerks are. They need to be educated about business judgement.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible store. Manager is not very smart to loose a good customer. Don’t buy gifts for people as they will not exchange. I purchase from this store often. I bought my daughter 2 pairs of socks ($17/each) as part of a birthday present. She didn’t like them, so when I went to exchange them for something else, the manager said returns are only excepted for certain items within 10 days. I won’t shop at this store again. It was clear the boxes were never opened. Be careful. Make sure you are going to keep whatever you buy. The girls on the floor are delightful and that’s what the one star is for.
