My goodness… Where to start? Let’s see… There was that the workers would not show up for days at a time, including a ten day stretch. There would be no communication during those periods. When they did show up, we would have no idea.Β  The work was generally completed in the laziest, shoddiest fashion possible. There was the fact that my own staff ended up doing most of the renovation work, but I still got charged for Russell Hendrix doing it. The bill was nearly double what was quoted. The movers took two days to move my equipment over when it should have been a half day’s work because they showed up without the proper equipment or any semblance of a plan. They also smashed the bejeezus out of the equipment and spilled grease trap juice everywhere because they did not know how to transport one of those. They ended up installing the grease trap with a rag stuffed in the pipe so we had to get someone out to fix that. I ended up paying for permits they never used and they neglected to tell us about other permits we needed. They lied about having a used dishwasher available to force me to buy a brand new one because they wanted a higher sale. Most of the work their people did complete, was not to code so they had to come out and do it twice. They sent out new tradesmen to do the work and did not have a more experienced journeyman or master check their work. They needed more guidance than was given to them. They misinformed us about the extent of the renovations that we would need to have completed to be to code. I had to put a stop payment out for the cheques I gave them because they were ignoring us when we were asking them to fix their screw-ups and money is literally the only way to get their attention. We were charged late fees for work that was never done. Come! Experience the joy of hiring Russell Hendrix for your renovations! I’d go on, but I have to go wash dishes since I sent back their dishwasher because I couldn’t bear having to deal with them for one more day or paying one more cent of their bloated bill.

Having restaurant-grade equipment won’t make you an amazing cook, but it helps! The folks at Russell Hendrix are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. The only downside is they don’t have a location in the south side!

We bought our freezers from Russell Hendrix. 6 years later we had a motor go out. We called them to repair it. Parts 47 dollars. We are 45 minutes from their shop and with travel and repair was$505.00 plus parts $47.00 .Took the tech 45 minutes to repair. All kinds of hidden costs.

Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. We had a great experience with sales and initial setup but since the equipment has been delivered it's been nothing short of a nightmare. Problems with brand new equipment and then bills for service for a tech to come and not even fix the problem. We purchased new to avoid those types of problems but unfortunately we're still facing them.

This is absolutely the spot for the at home cooking enthusiast, though it is marketed towards restaurants you can dramatically elevate your at home experience by outfitting your home kitchen with everything you need at an extremely reasonable price. Everything in there is built for professional use, so while not the most elegant it is built to last and didn’t cost an arm and a leg. Pans, knives, cutting boards, pots, bowls and containers as far as the eye can see.

This company has a blatant disregard for the well-being of its customers and some of the poorest customer service I have ever experienced. Having worked in the service industry for several years now I was absolutely appalled by how people within this company treated me and my mother. One of our appliances had broken down and we brought it in to be repaired. When we first brought it in they accused my father of stealing the cart that he brought the appliance in on and kept our cart. We had to be redirected multiple times before we got that issue resolved and could get our cart back when they could have just checked security footage to see that he had in fact brought it in with him. After bringing the appliance back to our store, it spontaneously burst into flames. We brought it to a different shop to have it repaired and they confirmed that it was repaired incorrectly, in such a way that causes overheating and runs the risk of electrical fires. When we called the store and explained the situation they said it was our fault it burst into flames because commercial equipment is not designed to be left on for hours at a time. We then called the manufacturer who said that the appliance is designed to be left on all day without risk of fire. When my mom spoke to the manager at this location she was incredibly snarky and rude. She told my mother that if the repairman said that the problem was it being left on for a few hours then that was the problem despite us telling her what the repairman from another store had said and what the manufacturer told us. My mother explained that she just wanted a refund for the labor and the piece they replaced because it was not repaired properly but that the harm they risked her warranted legal measures she did not want to have to take. The manager then accused my mom of threatening her. After a while of the manager rambling and being incredibly rude, showing no concern that a product they repaired caused such a great risk of harm, she said she would investigate and call my mom back. After 10 days she still hadn't so I called and explained the situation. The manager claimed she was trying to contact the manufacturer and the other appliance shop we went to because she was trying to prove that we weren't lying (even though that day both of them said they she had not attempted to contact them so she was blatantly lied to us). I told her that it was absurd that she had no concern that the repairmen under her company were putting people in harms way and she had the audacity to laugh at me and claim my mother never told her it caught fire which was the entire reason she called in the first place. At that point I told her that if we were not refunded we would be seeking legal recourse. She said she still had to contact those people to match up our stories. Less than an hour later she called demanding my mothers credit card number, not telling her it was to process the refund until she asked why they needed it. She never contacted the manufacturer or the other appliance shop indicating she had the ability to refund us at any time she wanted. Instead she argued with us, laughed at us and ridiculed us for a mistake they made. The company has still not apologized for their mistake. I also found it incredibly strange that she did not take my mother's claims seriously, but when I made those exact same claims she took less than an hour to rectify the issue without taking any further measures than she did when my mother made the initial complaint. English is not my mother's first language and she speaks in a heavy accent whereas I was born and raised here and speak English with a Canadian accent. Take from that what you will. They lied to us multiple times, accused us of lying, did not care that they threatened my mother's safety, refused to take accountability and blamed the fire on us, and displayed a prejudicial attitude toward my mother. There is so much wrong with how this company prioritizes profits over the safety of its customers until their reputation is threatened by legal disposition.

As a dude who just likes to cook at home, this place is like a dream. Everything is laid out nicely, prices are great (and often cheaper than Amazon, screw supporting those guys), and the staff were always super helpful. I don't have an account with them, I don't have a huge service or supply contract with them, just a guy making a small one time purchase and they were fantastic.
