Dr. Novak earned his medical degree in 1994 from Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia. He completed his obstetrics and gynaecology residency in Slovakia and Switzerland.

Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Novak worked as an on-staff physician for University Hospital at the Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic. During his time in Europe, he completed many postgraduate courses in obstetrics and gynaecology.

In 1999, Dr. Novak relocated to Canada and completed residency training at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, where he taught medical students and residents and earned a Residency Teaching Award. From 2004-2011, he worked as an on-staff OB/GYN at Brockville General Hospital, where he served as the head of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department for three of those years.

In the spring of 2011, Dr. Novak opened a private practice in north-western Ontario that has grown into a busy, well-renowned clinic. In addition to running his practice, Dr. Novak serves as a staff physician at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and assistant professor at Northern Ontario School of Medicine.

He was going to perform a partial but I asked for a complete so that I wouldn't need to have further surgeries if required. I was thinking of this as more preventative step. Throughout all of my appointments, he listened and was explained everything thoroughly to me. Day of surgery, I told him “lets do this!” He took that same energy and said, “yes! Let’s do this! Let’s improve your quality of life!” He came to see me twice before I left the hospital and he followed up the next day with a phone call.
