â â â â â If you're a low-maintenance and self-sufficient traveler, this place is for you. It's dirt cheap ($35 Canadian per night), quiet even during peak festival weekends, and clean.
Bathrooms, showers, and kitchen are community per floor. This is, after all, a college dormitory when school is in session. There is one twin bed per room which is quite comfortable, but I would recommend to bring your own bedding for comfort. There is no air conditioning but that's fine with Montréal's cool summer climate.
The best thing about this location is it's location. It's within walking distance of anything you could need. McGill metro station can get you just about anywhere else in the city you need to go, and there are tons of shops, restaurants, grocery stores, art museums, and nightclubs nearby. If you'd rather spend money on your experience in Montréal than your hotel room, this place is fantastic. Definitely going to book again next summer.

â â â â â Exactly what you'd expect from a short term stay in a student residence building. Single rooms feature one twin bed (with some scratchy linen), a mini-fridge, a desk chair, too few oddly placed power outlets, plenty of storage space, and decent wifi. There is no air conditioning, limited towels, and no daily housekeeping. That being said, if you don't intend to spend much time in your room, then it is a really good option. A communal washroom is at the centre of each floor - four sinks, 3 toilet stalls, 2 shower stalls, and 1 bathtub/shower combo.
The location is great for travellers. It's in Montréal's downtown, very close to Mont Royal, about a 25 minute walk to most tourist spots, and about a 20 minute walk from the central train/bus stations.
Honestly, for $50 it is not a bad spot for an on-the-go traveller.

â â â â â Clean rooms, very basic but that's to be expected for summer accommodations at a university. Very old building and I found it creepy at night but I get scared easily! Washrooms seemed to be co-ed and quite outdated. No A/C. Wifi can be spotty. Great location right downtown and well priced.

â â â â â The bathrooms were very moldy and unclean. The water pressure feels like itâs attacking your soul and there is no lukewarm setting, only very hot or very cold.
The laundry machines were down for at least a day and a half before they were fixed
There is no air conditioning in the dorms. The staff were very rude about staying in the air conditioned west lounge or lobby for very long.
Fans are available at the cost of $2 per day. There are not enough fans for the whole dormitory. Laundry cards are available, but you have to pay $21 for a $20 card.
Overall this place feels like a scam because it is. The only people nice enough to make this place bearable are the maintenance staff with their cheerful smiles and encouraging comments.
